RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 (Short Notice) - Apply Online for 6565 Posts

RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 is an upcoming centralised recruitment drive by Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) to fill about 6,565 Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III posts for the 2026–27 cycle through a common online application.

As per the approved intent, a total of 6,565 Technician vacancies are proposed, including 323 posts for Technician Grade I Signal and 6,242 posts for various Technician Grade III categories across all RRBs.

The indicative schedule mentions that online applications will be accepted from 30-06-2026 to 29-07-2026 (up to 23:59 hrs), while the indicative notice date is 23-05-2026 and CBT dates are aligned with the revised schedule for technician examinations in March 2026.

The notification covers Technician Grade I Signal (Level 5) and various Technician Grade III posts (Level 2) across departments such as Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, and Signal & Telecommunication in Indian Railways.

For Technician Grade I Signal, the age limit is expected to be 18 to 36 years, and for Technician Grade III it is 18 to 33 years, with relaxations for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules in the detailed CEN.

Candidates for Technician Grade I Signal should have either a B.Sc. degree in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, IT, or Instrumentation, or a Degree/Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution, as per CEN 02/2026.

Technician Grade III requires 10th/Matriculation plus ITI in a relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT or completion of an Act Apprenticeship in the concerned trade, from a recognized institute.

The selection process is expected to include a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination, and there is no separate Computer Based Aptitude Test for these Technician posts.

The CBT is likely to consist of 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks, with a duration of 90 minutes and a negative marking of one-third mark for each incorrect answer, while unanswered questions will not attract negative marks.

Candidates will have to apply online through the official website of their chosen RRB by selecting CEN 02/2026, registering with basic details, filling the common application for the chosen pay level, uploading documents, paying the fee if applicable, and submitting the form before 29-07-2026.
