Which engineering branches are eligible for the TPGL General Manager (Technical) post?

Electrical and Mechanical Engineering only. You need a B.E. / B.Tech. with at least 55% marks from a UGC / AICTE recognised University or Institution.

Can retired officers apply?

Yes. Retired candidates, and anyone above 60, can apply up to the age limit of 65 years. They are paid Rs. 1,00,000 a month on a consolidated basis, with no link to any pension they receive.

Rs. 118500 at level 20 of the pay matrix. DA (now 44%), Compensatory Allowance of Rs. 400 and HRA of Rs. 10000 a month are paid on top, along with a 12% employer's EPF contribution.

Is the job permanent?

No. It is a 3-year contract that may be extended by mutual consent, and either side can end it with 30 days' notice. No pension is paid.
