Presidency University Kolkata Professor Recruitment 2026 – 44 Vacancies Across 15 Departments, Apply by 1 July

The last date to submit the online application for the post of Professor at Presidency University, Kolkata is 01 July 2026 by 5:30 PM. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered under any circumstances.

A total of 44 Professor vacancies have been notified across 15 departments and institutes, including Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Life Sciences, Bengali, English, Hindi, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Sociology, and the Institute of Health Sciences.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied discipline and satisfy one of two routes: (a) an eminent scholar with at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals, a research score of 120, and 10 years of teaching/research experience with evidence of doctoral guidance; OR (b) an outstanding professional from industry/academia with 10 years of experience and significant documented contribution to the field.

The pay scale for the Professor post is Rs. 1,44,200/– to Rs. 2,18,200/- under Academic Level 14, along with other admissible allowances as per West Bengal State Government orders.

Selection is based on shortlisting of applications by the respective screening committee, followed by a personal interview before the Selection Committee. There is no written examination. All shortlisted candidates must physically appear before the Selection Committee on the day of interview without exception.
