OSSSC Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 Last Date Extended - Apply Online for 5989 Posts

The last date to submit the online application for OSSSC Nursing Officer 2026 is 05 August 2026. The online system will be automatically disabled after this date and no application will be accepted thereafter.

The OSSSC has notified 5989 vacancies for the post of Nursing Officer across all 30 districts of Odisha under the Health & Family Welfare Department.

Candidates must have passed 10+2, hold a Diploma in GNM or BSc Nursing from a recognised institution approved by the Indian Nursing Council, and possess a valid Registration or Renewal Certificate from the Nursing Council of Odisha as on the date of submission of the online application form.

Candidates must be between 21 and 42 years of age as on the date of advertisement (12 June 2026). SC/ST/SEBC/Women candidates get a 5-year relaxation (upper limit becomes 47 years), PwD candidates get a 10-year relaxation (upper limit becomes 52 years), and contractual Nursing Officers under OSH&FW Society/Scheme and ASHAs get an upper limit of 45 years.

The examination fee is ₹500 for all candidates except those belonging to SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) categories, who are exempted from paying any fee. The fee can be paid via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.

The Nursing Officer post carries a pay scale of ₹29,200–92,300 at Pay Matrix Level-8, Cell-01 as per Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (ORSP) Rules 2017. The starting basic pay is ₹29,200 per month.

Selection is based on a Written Test of 100 marks (MCQ type, OMR/CBRE mode, 2 hours duration) followed by Document Verification and preparation of a Provisional Select List. There is no interview. Minimum qualifying marks are 30% for ST/SC/PwDs/Ex-Servicemen/Sportsperson and 35% for all others.

The Written Test has 100 questions for 100 marks in 2 hours. The paper includes 60 questions from nursing syllabus subjects, 25 questions on practical skills, 10 questions on Arithmetic (High School level), and 5 questions on English (High School level). There is negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
