There are 50 Trade Apprentice seats: 25 for ITI Electrician, 16 for ITI Fitter and 09 for ITI Electronics Mechanic.

What stipend does a Trade Apprentice get?

Rs 10,560/- a month after a one-year ITI course, and Rs 11,040/- a month after a two-year ITI course.

Do local candidates get preference?

Yes. Eligible candidates living within 16 km of Narora Atomic Power Station are considered first, subject to reservation. They must submit proof of their permanent address.

Can I apply if I completed my diploma or degree long ago?

Diploma and Graduate Apprentices must have passed their qualifying exam within 5 years of 18 November 2026.

I have already done an apprenticeship. Can I apply?

No. Anyone who has done, or is doing, an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any government body, PSU or private organisation cannot apply.

How is the merit list decided if two candidates have the same marks?

The candidate born earlier ranks higher. If the dates of birth are also the same, the higher 10th percentage decides.

Is there a written exam?

The notice describes only a shortlist based on the percentage of marks in the respective trade or discipline, followed by document verification with originals.

Will NPCIL give me a job after the apprenticeship?

No. Under the Apprentices Act, 1961, NPCIL is not obliged to offer a job to anyone who completes the training, and apprentices have no right to claim one.

What are the photo and signature sizes for the online form?

The photo must be a colour JPG of no more than 50KB, between 240 x 180 and 640 x 480 pixels. The signature must be a JPG of no more than 20KB, between 80 x 200 and 160 x 560 pixels.
