There are 272 seats: 190 for code 101, 38 for code 103, 21 for code 105 and 23 for code 107. The notice calls the numbers tentative.

What is the last date to apply?

The last date is 6 December 2026, for both the NAPS/NATS application and the Microsoft Form. Applications opened on 6 November 2026.

What qualification is required?

Codes 101 and 103 need a 3 years B.Sc with Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry. Code 105 needs a 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engg., and code 107 a 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation or the related branches listed. Minimum 50% marks apply (45% for SC/ST/PwBD on reserved seats).

What is the age limit?

The age limit is 18 to 24 years as on 30.11.2026 for General/EWS candidates. Upper age relaxation is up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL) and 10 years for PwBD.

How do I apply?

Register and apply on the NAPS portal (codes 101, 103) or the NATS portal (codes 105, 107) with the Barauni Refinery Establishment ID. Then submit the Microsoft Form reached through www.iocl.com. Both steps are compulsory.

Is there a written test?

No. Selection is by percentage of marks in the prescribed qualification. Shortlisted candidates then go through Document Verification and a pre-engagement medical examination.

How much is the stipend?

The stipend per month is as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, the Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended) and the Corporation's guidelines. No amount is printed in the notice.

Will IOCL give a job after the apprenticeship?

No. The Corporation has no obligation to offer employment after apprenticeship, and apprentices cannot claim a right to employment on that ground.

Can I apply for more than one trade?

No. A candidate can apply for one trade or discipline only. A B.Sc candidate may choose either code 101 or 103, and applications for more than one trade are summarily rejected.

Can PwBD candidates apply?

Yes, but only against codes 105 and 107, which have 5 PwBD seats each. They must hold a disability certificate and fall in the listed categories.
