A total of 716 vacancies have been announced under A&N Administration CHSL Recruitment 2026 across 38 Group B (NG) and Group C posts in various departments. The number is tentative and may increase or decrease at the sole discretion of the A&N Administration.

Male candidates from General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) through Net Banking, VISA/Master/Rupay/Credit/Debit Card, or UPI Payment/QR Code. Female candidates, ST candidates, and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) are fully exempted from payment of the examination fee. The fee once paid is non-refundable.

The minimum educational qualification for most posts is 12th Pass (Senior Secondary Certificate - Class XII) from a recognized Board or University. However, some specialized posts require additional qualifications such as ITI/Diploma (Forester, Mechanical Foreman), specific Certificates of Competency (Master 1st Class, Chief Engine Driver, Marine Radio Operator), or Diploma in Computer Engineering (IT Analyst, Computer Assistant Gr.-A'). The selection process consists of two tiers: Tier-I is an Online TBT (Tablet Based Test) of 200 marks covering English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness (50 marks each, 120 minutes duration); Tier-II is a Physical Standard Examination/Skill/Trade Test applicable to specific posts only and is qualifying in nature. Final selection is based on merit in Tier-I, subject to qualifying Tier-II wherever applicable. No interview is conducted.

Yes, there is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the TBT (Tablet Based Test) Online Examination. Each question carries one mark. There are a total of 200 questions for 200 marks. Candidates are advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions to avoid unnecessary deductions.

The general age limit is 18-30 years for Group B (NG) posts (both Male and Female) and 18-33 years for Male and 18-38 years for Female for Group C posts. Age relaxation is provided to ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwD (10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC, 15 years for ST), Ex-Servicemen (3 years after deducting military service), and Central Government Civilian Employees (up to 40 years) as applicable. The Tablet Based Test (TBT) examination will be held at designated centres located at South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman, and Nicobar Districts. The A&N Administration will not entertain any request for change in Examination Centre/zone at a later stage. The exact date and venue will be intimated through SMS/e-mail to registered candidates.

Only Local Scheduled Tribe candidates covered under the category of "Tribes" as specified under the A&N Islands Scheduled Tribe Order 1959 are eligible to apply for vacancies under the Schedule Tribe (ST) quota. Other ST candidates from outside the Union Territory of A&N Islands will be considered only for Unreserved (UR) Vacancies. Similarly, only Local OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates covered under the relevant Gazette Notification are eligible for OBC reservation.
