UPSSSC Forest Guard Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 708 Posts

UPSSSC Forest Guard & Wildlife Guard Recruitment 2026 is a state‑level selection process conducted by Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) to fill 708 permanent posts of Van Rakshak (Forest Guard) and Vanya Jeev Rakshak (Wildlife Guard) in the Forest and Wildlife Department of Uttar Pradesh under Advertisement No. 12‑Pariksha/2026.

A total of 708 vacancies have been announced for Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard posts combined. These include 647 posts for Forest Guard and 61 posts for Wildlife Guard, distributed across general and special selection categories.

The notification was released on 23 April 2026 and the online registration and fee payment window will remain open from 30 June 2026 to 20 July 2026. The last date for fee reconciliation and application correction is 27 July 2026, while the written exam date will be notified separately on the official website.

Applicants must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised Board such as Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh. In addition, candidates must be PET‑2025 qualified and possess a valid UPSSSC PET‑2025 score card, as this recruitment is being conducted for PET‑based shortlisted candidates.

The minimum age for both Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard posts is 18 years and the maximum age is 40 years, calculated as on 01 July 2026. Upper age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories, UP State Government employees, Ex‑Servicemen and other eligible categories as per prevailing Uttar Pradesh Government rules.

Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level‑2 with a salary range of ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 plus applicable allowances as per the 7th CPC and UP Government norms. This makes the Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard posts a stable government job option with permanent status.

There is no examination fee for any category; however, all candidates must pay an online processing fee of ₹25. The fee can be paid through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI or SBI e‑Challan, and the application is treated as successfully submitted only after fee payment and reconciliation.

The selection process includes shortlisting based on PET‑2025 normalised scores, followed by a Main Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Examination. Candidates must qualify each stage separately since PST/PMT, PET and Medical are of qualifying nature and mandatory for final selection.

The written exam will be objective type with 100 multiple‑choice questions for 100 marks and a duration of 120 minutes. The paper generally includes sections on subject‑related knowledge (forest and environment), elementary mathematics and biology, computer and information technology, and general knowledge about Uttar Pradesh, with a negative marking of ¼ marks for each wrong answer.

Eligible PET‑2025 qualified candidates can apply online through the official website upsssc.gov.in between 30 June and 20 July 2026 by logging in with their PET registration details. After login, they must fill educational details, select post preferences, confirm auto‑fetched personal data, pay the ₹25 online processing fee and finally submit and download the application form for future reference.
