DTE Tamil Nadu Polytechnic Admission 2026 is the centralized merit-based process run by the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Tamil Nadu, to admit students into First Year Diploma, Lateral Entry (Direct Second Year), and Part-Time Diploma courses at Government, Government-Aided, and Self-Financing Polytechnic Colleges for the academic year 2026–27

No. Tamil Nadu does not conduct any written entrance examination for polytechnic diploma admission. There is no TNPOLY exam or hall ticket. Admission is based entirely on marks secured in the Class 10 (SSLC) or equivalent examination

Candidates who have passed Class 10 (SSLC) from any recognized board are eligible for First Year Diploma admission. Those who have passed Class 12 or completed a 2-year ITI after Class 10 are eligible for Lateral Entry (Direct Second Year) admission.
