Nagaland PSC CESE Recruitment 2026 is a Common Educational Services Examination conducted by the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), Kohima to fill teaching and academic posts like Assistant Professor, Lecturer, PGT, Graduate Teacher, Research Associate and Librarian under various education departments of the Government of Nagaland. Recruitment is being conducted through Advertisement No. NPSC‑1/CESE‑2026 (No.NPSC/EXAM‑21/2023) published in April 2026.

The CESE 2026 notification covers around 178 vacancies clubbed into 54 item numbers across Higher Education, School Education, Technical Education and SCERT. These include a large number of Assistant Professor posts in subjects like Chemistry, English, Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Commerce and Sociology, along with Lecturer, PGT, Graduate Teacher, Librarian and Research Associate posts.

Candidates must be between 21 and 32 years of age as on 1 January 2026 to be eligible for CESE 2026. Upper‑age relaxations are available for SC/ST candidates (typically 5 years), Government employees, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and Ph.D. holders for specified Assistant Professor posts, as per norms indicated in recent CESE notifications.

For most Assistant Professor posts, candidates must have a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST and some categories) from a recognized university. In addition, candidates should have cleared NET/SLET/SET or hold a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations, in which case NET/SLET/SET may be exempted as per rules; for disciplines where NET is not conducted, NET is not mandatory.

For PGT posts under the School Education Department, the minimum qualification is a Post Graduate degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks (relaxable for SC/ST/differently abled candidates) along with a B.Ed. For Graduate Teacher posts, a Graduate/Post Graduate degree with 50% marks in the relevant subject and B.Ed is required, again with similar relaxations for reserved categories.

One Time Registration (OTR) is free of cost for all candidates on the NPSC portal. For CESE 2026, candidates must pay an examination fee of ₹300 plus a convenience fee of ₹25 and applicable payment‑gateway charges at the time of submitting the online application.

Candidates must first complete the One Time Registration (OTR) on the NPSC portal npsc.nagaland.gov.in and then proceed to fill the CESE 2026 online application form using their OTR profile. They need to enter personal and educational details, upload required documents, pay the examination fee online, submit the form, and download/print the final application for future reference.

During document verification, candidates will have to produce their HSLC/Matriculation admit card for proof of date of birth, mark sheets and pass certificates from HSLC onwards, Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate, ST or Backward Tribe certificate where applicable, and PwBD certificate in prescribed formats, all duly issued by competent authorities. Government employees must also produce a No Objection Certificate from the Head of Department as per NPSC rules.
