Konkan Railway Recruitment 2026 Notification Out – Walk in for 132 Helper, Technician and Other Posts

KRCL Mechanical Department Recruitment 2026 is a fixed term contract recruitment by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited to engage 132 candidates across 9 posts in the Mechanical/Project Department for VDPD Workshop, Visakhapatnam, under Notification No. CO/P‑R/7C/2026.

A total of 132 vacancies are announced for Junior Technical Assistant/Mechanical, Quality Inspector, Technician (Welder), Technician (Fitter), Technician (EOT Operator), Vehicle Driver, Lister/Forklift Operator, Hydra Operator, and Office Boy/Helper/Khalasi posts in the Mechanical/Project Department.

Walk‑in interviews will be held from 08 June 2026 to 12 June 2026 (post‑wise scheduled dates) between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs at the Administrative Building, Wagon Repair Workshop, Autonagar, Vadlapudi, Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

The engagement is purely on fixed term contract for an initial period of 1 year, which can be extended up to a maximum of 5 years based on satisfactory performance, conduct, and the requirement of KRCL, without any claim for regular absorption.

For Junior Technical Assistant/Mechanical, candidates must have a full‑time Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related branches (Production & Industrial, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronic, Material Sciences, Metallurgical) from an AICTE‑recognized institute, along with at least 1 year post‑qualification experience, preferably in repair workshops or manufacturing units.

For all posts, the upper age limit is 50 years as on 01 May 2026, with relaxations for OBC (Non‑Creamy Layer) and SC/ST candidates as per government rules, while Ex‑servicemen age relaxation is as per government guidelines.

KRCL offers consolidated monthly remuneration varying by post and city class; for example, Junior Technical Assistant/Mechanical gets around Rs. 47,220 in A‑Class cities (including Basic, DA, HRA, conveyance and mobile allowance), with slightly lower consolidated pay for B and C class city postings, and annual 4% increment on completion of each year, subject to KRCL’s discretion.

No, KRCL does not provide accommodation or food/mess allowance to contract employees; however, certain benefits like insurance, gratuity and bonus as per applicable labour codes, TA for duty travel, railway pass for official journeys, and leave benefits are provided as per KRCL rules.

Selection is through a walk‑in process involving preliminary screening of documents, and based on the number of applicants, an elimination round such as Group Discussion or written test may be conducted, followed by an interview by a nominated committee that prepares a merit list considering qualification and post‑qualification experience.

There is no online application; eligible candidates must download and fill the prescribed application form (Annexure‑A) from the KRCL website, bring the duly filled form along with original certificates and self‑attested photocopies to the walk‑in venue on the specified date and time for their post, and register between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs only.
