Kerala TET Notification 2026: KTET Exam Date, Eligibility, Apply Online & Syllabus

For the February 2026 session, online applications are scheduled to start from 26 February 2026, subject to confirmation from the official notification; candidates must verify the exact schedule on ktet.kerala.gov.in before applying.

KTET Category I is for Lower Primary teachers (Classes 1–5), Category II for Upper Primary (Classes 6–8), Category III for High School (Classes 9–10) and Category IV for Language and Specialist teachers such as Language, Art & Craft and Physical Education teachers.

The required qualification depends on the category, but in general candidates must have Higher Secondary with D.El.Ed for Lower Primary, Graduation with D.El.Ed or B.Ed for Upper Primary, and Graduation in the concerned subject with B.Ed for High School, along with specific norms for Language and Specialist teachers.

B.Ed is compulsory for many posts under KTET Category II and Category III where graduation with B.Ed is prescribed, while for Category I (Lower Primary) a D.El.Ed/TTC or equivalent teacher training qualification is typically required instead of B.Ed.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts in KTET; candidates can appear any number of times to improve their scores or qualify, subject to fulfilling eligibility criteria each time.
