Coal India PMIS Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 34 Posts

Coal India Limited has announced a total of 34 internship opportunities under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) across two locations. The opportunities are distributed as follows: 20 opportunities at CIL (HQ), Kolkata across three Internship IDs (PMIS-2026-33020 with 7 positions, PMIS-2026-32977 with 8 positions, and PMIS-2026-33035 with 5 positions), and 14 opportunities at North Eastern Coalfields, Margherita, Assam across two Internship IDs (PMIS-2026-33028 with 7 positions and PMIS-2026-33000 with 7 positions).

The educational qualification required is ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in specific trades. For Kolkata locations, candidates need ITI in Secretarial Practice (English) for Internship ID PMIS-2026-33020, ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) for PMIS-2026-32977, and ITI in Stenographer and Secretarial Assistant (Hindi) for PMIS-2026-33035. For Margherita, Assam locations, ITI in Secretarial Practice (English) is required for PMIS-2026-33028 and ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant for PMIS-2026-33000.

Under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme, selected candidates receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, consisting of ₹4,500 from the Government through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and ₹500 from the participating company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. Additionally, interns receive a one-time grant of ₹6,000 upon joining. All participants are covered under government insurance schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and receive an internship completion certificate at the end of the program.

The internship duration under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme is between 6 to 9 months, depending on the role and company requirements. According to PMIS guidelines, at least half of the internship period must be spent in real working environments rather than classroom training. The specific duration for each Coal India internship opportunity will be mentioned on the PMIS Portal when candidates apply for their preferred internship ID.

The online application portal opens on 27 April 2026 at 00:00 Hours and closes on 16 May 2026 at 23:59 Hours. Candidates must complete their registration and submit their applications through the PMIS Portal (pminternship.mca.gov.in/login/) within this window. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Candidates must be Indian citizens aged between 18 to 25 years as on the last date of application submission. The applicant must not be pursuing full-time education (except final-year students) or employed full-time. The annual family income must not exceed ₹8,00,000 from all sources. Eligible qualifications include Class 10, Class 12, ITI certificate, Diploma, or Graduate degree. However, graduates from specific premier institutions (IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, etc.) and those holding professional qualifications like CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, or master's degrees are not eligible.

Candidates must apply online exclusively through the PMIS Portal at pminternship.mca.gov.in/login/. The process involves: visiting the official PMIS portal, clicking "Login/Register" and entering your mobile number, verifying identity via Aadhaar OTP or DigiLocker (e-KYC is mandatory), filling in personal details, address, educational qualifications (from 10th onwards), skills, and languages known, completing 100% profile to unlock the Apply button. After profile completion, candidates should search for specific Coal India internship opportunities using the Internship IDs mentioned in the notification and submit their application before 16 May 2026.

While the Coal India notification lists 5 different Internship IDs across two locations, candidates should refer to PMIS guidelines for applying to multiple opportunities. As per recent PMIS updates, each applicant can apply to up to 3 internships during the application window.
