It depends on the post: Rs. 2,25,000 (fixed) for Member (Technical), Rs. 2,25,000 (fixed) for Member (Judicial).

What qualification is needed for this recruitment?

Member (Judicial): District Judge and Additional District Judge for a combined ten years, or advocate for ten years with substantial indirect tax litigation experience before CESTAT, High Court or Supreme Court, or member of Indian Legal Service in Grade I or above. Member (Technical): member of IRS (Customs and Indirect Taxes Group 'A') who has held the post of Principal Commissioner of Customs or Central Excise or an equivalent or higher post, with three years of judicial, quasi-judicial or. The requirement for each post is in the eligibility table above.

Are there other conditions for this recruitment besides qualification and age?

Yes. A serving Supreme Court or High Court Judge, or serving member of any Central or State government service or undertaking, must resign or take voluntary retirement before joining. Pay of an appointee receiving pension is reduced by the gross amount of pension drawn. A person holding or who has held the post of Member in CESTAT is eligible for reappointment under Section 14 of the Act.
