UPPSC PCS Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 500 Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Posts

The last date to submit the online application and pay the examination fee is 27 July 2026. The last date for correction or modification in the submitted application is 3 August 2026.

Approximately 500 vacancies have been announced for the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination 2026. The number may increase or decrease depending on requirements and circumstances.

Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as on 1 July 2026 (i.e., born between 2 July 1986 and 1 July 2005). Age relaxation of 5 years is available for SC/ST/OBC of UP; 15 years for PH (UP); and additional relaxation for Ex-Servicemen of UP.

General/EWS/OBC candidates pay Rs. 125/- (Rs. 100 exam fee + Rs. 25 processing fee). SC/ST (UP) and Ex-Servicemen (UP) pay Rs. 65/-. PWD candidates pay only Rs. 25/- (exam fee exempted). Fee is paid online via SBI MOPS.

A Bachelor's Degree from any recognized university is the minimum general qualification. Some posts have additional specific qualifications such as Post Graduate degrees, B.Ed., LLB, specific Science degrees, or professional qualifications. All qualifications must be held by the last date for submitting applications.

Selection is through three stages: Preliminary Examination (Objective, 2 papers of 200 marks each) → Main Examination (Conventional/descriptive, 8 papers totalling 1500 marks) → Viva-Voce / Interview (100 marks). For some posts, selection is based on written examination only without an interview.

Yes, there is negative marking in the Preliminary Examination. 1/3 mark (0.33) is deducted for each wrong answer. If more than one answer is marked for a question, it is also treated as a wrong answer with the same penalty. No penalty for unattempted questions.

Yes, candidates from other states can apply, but they will not be eligible for reservation benefits or age relaxation. These benefits are available exclusively to candidates who are permanent residents (domicile) of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates of other states belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen categories will be treated as general category candidates.
