The online application portal opens on 8th June 2026 at 10:00 AM and the last date for application submission and fee payment is 29th June 2026 up to 4:00 PM. The crucial date for determining age and all eligibility criteria is 29th June 2026, which is the closing date of application submission. Candidates must ensure all their qualifications are completed by this date, as those awaiting results are not eligible to apply.

A total of 255 vacancies (208 current + 47 backlog) are available across 8 trades. The trade-wise distribution is: Plant Operator - 136 posts, Electrician - 47 posts, Fitter - 30 posts, Electronics Mechanic - 15 posts, Instrumentation Mechanic - 15 posts, Turner - 5 posts, Machinist - 5 posts, and Welder - 2 posts. Out of the total 255 posts, 11 posts are horizontally reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) across different disability categories.

For Plant Operator positions, candidates must have passed HSC (10+2) or ISC with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. For Electronics Mechanic, Instrumentation Mechanic, Electrician, Fitter, Turner, Machinist, and Welder trades, candidates need SSC (10th) with minimum 50% marks in Science subjects and Mathematics individually, plus a 2-year ITI certificate in the relevant trade. For trades where ITI duration is less than 2 years, 1 year of relevant working experience after course completion is mandatory. English must have been studied at SSC (10th) level for all trades.

No, candidates awaiting results of their qualifying examination are NOT eligible to apply for this recruitment. All qualifications - whether HSC (10+2) for Plant Operator or SSC (10th) + ITI for other trades - must be completed by the closing date of application (29th June 2026). This is a strict eligibility criterion and only candidates who have already received their final results and certificates can submit applications.

The age limit is 18 to 24 years as on 29th June 2026, meaning candidates must be born between 29-06-2002 and 29-06-2008. Age relaxation is provided as follows: OBC (NCL) - 3 years (max 27 years), SC/ST - 5 years (max 29 years), PwBD-UR/EWS - 10 years (max 34 years), PwBD-OBC - 13 years (max 37 years), PwBD-SC/ST - 15 years (max 39 years). Ex-Servicemen get 3 years relaxation after deduction of military service from actual age. If a candidate is eligible for relaxation under more than one category, relaxations will be on a cumulative basis subject to maximum 56 years.

During the 2-year training period, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000 in Year 1 and Rs. 22,000 in Year 2, along with a one-time book allowance of Rs. 3,000. After successful completion of training with minimum 60% marks, candidates will be absorbed as Technician/B in Pay Level 3 with a basic pay of Rs. 21,700. The approximate monthly emoluments including Dearness Allowance (at 60%) will be around Rs. 34,720.

The selection consists of three stages conducted on the same day. Stage 1 (Preliminary Test) is a 60-minute screening exam with 50 MCQs for 150 marks covering Mathematics (20 questions), Science (20 questions), and General Awareness (10 questions), with minimum qualifying marks of 40% for UR and 30% for reserved categories. Stage 2 (Advanced Test) is a 120-minute merit exam with 50 MCQs for 150 marks based on HSC level for Plant Operator or ITI trade syllabus for other trades, with minimum qualifying marks of 30% for UR and 20% for reserved categories. Both tests have 3 marks per correct answer and negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer. Stage 3 involves Document Verification for shortlisted candidates (not exceeding 3 times the vacancies per trade). The final merit list is prepared based solely on Stage-2 Advanced Test scores.

Male candidates belonging to General (UR), EWS, and OBC categories must pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 100 through online payment gateway (debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI). Female candidates, SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA), and NPCIL employees are completely exempted from payment of application fee. The application number will be generated only after successful payment of fee (or fee exemption).
