Meghalaya Border Wing Home Guards Enrollment 2026 – 108 Part-Time Naik & Lance Naik (Volunteer) Posts | Last Date 6 July 2026

The last date for receipt of applications at the concerned offices is 6 July 2026. Applications received by hand or by post after this date will not be considered under any circumstances.

A total of 108 posts are available — 54 posts of Part-Time Naik and 54 posts of Part-Time Lance Naik (Volunteers) in the Meghalaya Border Wing Home Guards Battalion.

Eligibility is limited to Home Guards Volunteers who are currently deployed/engaged with various Requisitioning Agencies for a total of 3 years (1095 days), are Indian citizens, and are domiciled in the state of Meghalaya. The upper age limit is 50 years as on 15 April 2026.

Selected volunteers will be paid monthly Honoraria under the 'Wages', Highly Skilled Category at the rate prescribed by the Department of Labour, Employment & Skill Development, Govt. of Meghalaya from time to time, including the Risk Allowance as prescribed by the State Government. The selection process consists of document scrutiny followed by a Personal Interview, which will be conducted at Tura and Shillong centres. No separate intimation will be sent; candidates must check the selected list and interview dates on the Departmental Notice Boards and the official website www.meghomeguards.gov.in.

Selected volunteers will have to serve in remote border areas of Khasi, Jaintia & Garo Hills bordering Bangladesh.

The initial deployment period is 1 (one) year. It may be extended based on the performance of the volunteers in the tasks assigned to them. The deployment is purely temporary and voluntary — no volunteer can claim regularisation or permanent retention.
