Is the IBPS SO syllabus the same for all posts?
No. English Language and Reasoning Ability are common to all posts, but the fourth Prelims subject and the entire Mains Professional Knowledge syllabus differ by post — IT Officer, AFO, HR Officer, and Marketing Officer get Quantitative Aptitude, while Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari get General Awareness instead.
Does the IBPS SO Prelims score count in the final merit list?
No. The Preliminary Examination is qualifying in nature only. Final merit is based on the Main Examination and Interview scores combined.
Is there negative marking in the IBPS SO exam?
Yes. A penalty of 0.25 marks is deducted for each wrong answer in both the Preliminary and Main Examinations.
