Gujarat GSRTC Driver Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 4599 Posts

A total of 4599 vacancies have been notified for the post of Driver (Fixed Pay) by Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). These are distributed across Unreserved (2066), EWS (490), SEBC (1061), SC (274), and ST (708) categories, with 459 posts horizontally reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

The last date to submit the online application for GSRTC Driver Recruitment 2026 is 05/07/2026 up to 23:59 hours. The last date to pay the application fee is 07/07/2026 up to 23:59 hours. Candidates are strongly advised to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Candidates must have passed Standard 12 (10+2) from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board or an equivalent recognized board. Additionally, a Basic Computer Knowledge certificate as per Gujarat Government resolution dated 13/08/2008 is also required. ITI holders (2-year course after Std. 10) with NCVT exam passed and a Polytechnic Diploma (3 years after Std. 10) are also considered equivalent to Std. 12 with an Education Board equivalence certificate.

The minimum age is 25 years and the maximum age is 35 years for Unreserved male candidates as on 05/07/2026 (DOB between 05/07/1991 to 05/07/2001). General female candidates get a 5-year relaxation (up to 40 years). Reserved category males can apply up to 40 years and reserved females up to 45 years. Ex-Servicemen can apply up to 45 years. Under no circumstances shall age exceed 45 years after all relaxations.

Selected candidates will receive a fixed pay of Rs. 26,000/- per month for the first 5 years on contract basis. Only allowances admissible under GSRTC norms will be paid; no other allowances or benefits are applicable during this period. After satisfactory completion of 5 years, candidates will be eligible for regular appointment at the prevailing pay scale for the Driver post in GSRTC.

Candidates must apply online only through https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in. Visit the portal, click “Apply Online”, select the Driver category, fill in Personal Details, Educational Qualification, Experience, and Computer Knowledge details, upload photo and signature, click “Save”, then “Confirm Application”, and finally pay the online process fee through the payment gateway before 05/07/2026 up to 23:59 hours.

The online process fee is Rs. 300/- + GST for Unreserved (General) male candidates and Rs. 200/- + GST for all female candidates, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, and Ex-Serviceman candidates. The fee must be paid online through the OJAS payment gateway and is non-refundable under any circumstances.

The selection process has two stages: first, a 100-mark OMR Written Test (1 hour) on General Knowledge, Road Safety, Gujarati, English Grammar, and Arithmetic; followed by a 50-mark Automatic Driving Test (minimum passing mark: 35). The final merit list is prepared with 40% weightage for OMR and 60% weightage for the Driving Test. Widow candidates and eligible Sports candidates get an additional 5% bonus on OMR marks.

Yes, the PSV (Public Service Vehicle) Badge is mandatory at the time of submitting the online application for both male and female candidates. A PSV Badge obtained after the date of online application will not be accepted and the application will be cancelled. Candidates must also hold a valid Smart Card Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence (HGV/HPV) from RTO — manual/book-type licences are not accepted at document verification.
