For the four Laboratory Assistant posts, candidates must be 18–33 years as on 6 July 2026; for Senior Laboratory Assistant, the upper limit is 35 years. Age relaxation of 10–20 years applies to Divyang candidates depending on category and gender.

Selection is through a single-stage MCQ-based written exam (Part-A: 90 marks, Part-B: 120 marks) with negative marking, followed by document verification and a category-wise merit/selection list.

What is the salary for these posts?
All posts carry a fixed pay of ₹26,000/month for the first 5 years. Thereafter, Laboratory Assistant posts move to Level-2 (₹19,900–₹63,200) and Senior Laboratory Assistant moves to Level-4 (₹25,500–₹81,100).
What educational qualification is required?
A relevant diploma in engineering (Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Computer, or Civil) is required for the Laboratory Assistant posts, while Senior Laboratory Assistant requires a second-class Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Geology, or Industrial Chemistry.
Is a scribe facility available for Divyang candidates?
Yes, candidates with Benchmark Disability affecting their writing ability can request a scribe and/or 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour by emailing GSSSB at least 2 days before the exam.
