What is the total number of vacancies for GSRTC Conductor Recruitment 2026?
A total of 4318 Conductor posts have been announced by Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) for direct recruitment on a fixed pay contract basis. GSRTC reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies.
What is the fixed pay for the GSRTC Conductor post?
Selected candidates will be appointed on a contract basis with a fixed pay of Rs. 26,000/- per month for a period of 5 years. After satisfactory completion of 5 years of service, candidates become eligible for regular appointment as per GSRTC's prevailing pay scale for the Conductor post. No other allowances or benefits will be payable during the contract period except as per rules.
What are the essential qualifications for GSRTC Conductor Recruitment 2026?
Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) from GSEB or an equivalent recognized board, must hold a valid Conductor Licence issued by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) along with a Badge, and must possess a Basic Computer Knowledge certificate as per the prescribed Gujarat Government resolution. All these must be valid as on the last date of application (05-07-2026).
What is the age limit for GSRTC Conductor Recruitment 2026?
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age for General (Male) candidates is 35 years as on the last date of application (05-07-2026). General Female candidates can apply up to 40 years; Reserved category Male candidates up to 40 years; Reserved category Female candidates up to 45 years; Ex-Servicemen and Divyang (PwD) candidates up to 45 years. Under no circumstances shall the age with all relaxations exceed 45 years.
What is the selection process for GSRTC Conductor Recruitment 2026?
All registered candidates will be called for a 100-mark OMR-based Competitive Written Examination of 1-hour duration. Based on merit in the written exam, candidates will be shortlisted at a ratio of 1.5 per vacancy for document verification. A Provisional Selection List and Waiting List (at 20% of vacancies, category-wise) will be prepared after document verification. There are no minimum qualifying marks, but candidates scoring zero or negative will not be eligible for document verification.
Is there negative marking in the GSRTC Conductor written examination?
Yes. For every wrong answer, blank/skipped response, overwritten answer, or multiple options marked, 0.25 marks will be deducted. However, if a candidate marks option (E) on the OMR sheet indicating they do not wish to answer that question, no negative marking will be applied for that particular question.
What is the application fee for GSRTC Conductor Recruitment 2026?
General (Unreserved) candidates must pay Rs. 300/- + GST. All reserved category candidates (SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, Divyang, Ex-Servicemen — both Male and Female) must pay Rs. 200/- + GST. Fee must be paid online via https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in and is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Can widow and sports persons get additional marks in GSRTC Conductor Recruitment 2026?
Yes. Widow candidates who have not remarried are entitled to 5% additional marks on their OMR written examination score at all stages of selection for priority consideration. Sports persons who have represented at National/International level, Inter-University level, or All India School Sports Federation level in the specified 25 sports disciplines are also entitled to 5% additional marks on their OMR score. Relevant certificates from competent authorities must be produced at document verification, failing which the additional marks will not be awarded.
What types of PwD (Divyang) disabilities are eligible for GSRTC Conductor Recruitment 2026?
The following disability categories are eligible: Low Vision (LV) 40–70% (Category A), Hard of Hearing (HH) 40–70% (Category B), Leprosy Cured (LC), Acid Attack Victim (AAV), OA/OL/BA/BL/OAL/BLOA/BLA type locomotor disabilities subject to Medical Board opinion (Category C), and Mental Illness (MI) 40–70% (Category D & E). Disability certificate must be from a Government Hospital Superintendent / Civil Surgeon / Medical Board and must be held as on the date of online application. Divyang candidates selected through the Divyang quota will not be entitled to future inter-class transfer policy benefits in GSRTC.
How long will the GSRTC Conductor 2026 Waiting List remain valid?
The Waiting List (Pratiksha Yadi) will remain valid for 2 years from the date of its publication OR until the result of the next recruitment examination for the Conductor post is declared — whichever is earlier. A category-wise waiting list will be prepared at 20% of the total vacancies. After this period, the waiting list will automatically stand cancelled. GSRTC reserves the right to modify the percentage of waiting list if required.
