Now the term Multiple Personality Disorder is called Dissociative Identity Disorder in medical terms. Dissociative Identity Disorder in short form, DID is a feeling of getting disconnected or a mental process that causes a lack of remembering your past thoughts, feelings, and actions. Dissociative Identity Disorder is a condition in which you tend to disconnect from yourself, in situations that affect you, and that can be also sensitive at times. Roseanne Barr, the comedian, shared with ABC News in 1994 that she has multiple personality disorder. She explained the challenge of switching between her seven different personalities, naming two of them 'Somebody' and 'Nobody'.

Marilyn Monroe is believed to have had a condition called dissociative identity disorder, which means she had different personalities. Causes

Multiple Personality Disorder is caused due to stress and difficult situations, people face from their early childhood. This can happen when children face emotional neglect or abuse, which can mess with how their personality develops. Many people who have DID have been through tough and even dangerous situations, often when they were very young, sometimes before they turned 6. Dissociation, which is when someone feels disconnected from their thoughts or feelings, can also happen because of ongoing neglect or emotional abuse, even if there wasn't any physical or sexual abuse involved.

According to research, it suggests that when parents are strict or not predictable, their children might develop this disorder.It only affects about 1% of the population, and it's more common in women than men.

Multiple Personality is a condition, in which where a person can not be the same as he/she was before because the person starts to lose his normal thoughts, memories, and how he was.
