Ranchi University

Ranchi University started on July 12, 1960, as its own institution. It used to be part of Bihar University. At first, it had ten departments for postgraduate studies, one college that was part of the university itself, and 20 other colleges that were connected to it.

Now, it has grown. It has 22 departments for postgraduate studies, 19 colleges that are part of the university, and 47 other colleges connected to it. These colleges serve about 160,000 students. This university aims to provide higher education to many people, especially those from tribal areas. Since it started, it has been helping a lot of young people who might not have had many opportunities otherwise.
