What is RRB Recruitment 2018?

Indian Railways, which is the fourth largest railway network in the world, is owned and operated by the Government of India through Ministry of Railways. The employees of Indian Railways are recruited under two categories:
  • Gazetted Officers (Group A and B)

The Group A Officer positions in Railways are filled by the President appointed candidates on the recommendation of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). What is the selection procedure for RRB ALP & Technicians 2018?

RRB Recruitment 2018 Exam for ALP & Technicians is conducted in online mode. It consists of two stages of Computer Based Tests (CBT). Candidate clear the first stage will be called for the second stage of the CBT. Candidates who qualify the second stage will be called for Document Verification (DV). The DV is conducted by the authorities for the post of RRB ALP & Technician 2018. The details of both the stages of CBI are given below:
(i)First Stage CBT (Common for ALP/Technician)
The first stage of the CBT exam is of objective type. Candidate should attend 75 objective type questions with a duration of 1 hour. The first stage of CBT will have four sections namely Mathematics, Reasoning, Science and Current Affairs. The First stage of RRB ALP & Technician exam pattern is given below:

For the RRB Technician 2018 post, the candidates who have qualified Part A of the second stage of CBT will be eligible for DV for final joining.
b.Group C ALP Post:
For the RRB ALP, 2018 post candidates who have qualified in both Part A of the Second stage of CBT and Computer-based AT subject with qualifying marks obtained in Part B of Second Stage of CBT will be called for DV for final joining.
Candidates who are called for the DV need to pass the medical fitness test performed by the Railway Administration. This is done in order to make sure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties for which they are selected. Another important medical fitness criteria a candidate must qualify is Visual Acuity Standard.

How to download RRB Recruitment 2018 Admit Card?

RRB Recruitment 2018 will issue the admit card for the CBT exam. Admit Card will be separate for both First Stage and Second Stage of CBT. For candidates who have successfully qualified the First Stage of CBT of RRB Recruitment 2018, RRB will be issued Admit Card for the Second Stage of CBT.

If a candidate finds him/her eligible to apply for the Group D RRB Recruitment 2018 exam, he/she should apply online. RRB has released the application form on 10th Feb 2018. One can find the application in the Official Website. The applicants must apply on or before the last date announced by RRB. The last date for applying RRB Group D 2018 exam through online ended on 31st March 2018. The candidates can fill the application form with the required details for the further exam process. What is the Selection procedure for RRB Group D 2018 Exam?

Candidates who have applied for the RRB Group D 2018 Exam should undertake the exams conducted by RRB Recruitment 2018. The exam will be conducted in online mode. RRB Recruitment 2018 has announced the exam dates for Group D. The CBT will be held on 12th Aug, 18th Aug, 26th Aug, 9th Sep, 16th Sep 2018. The selection of a candidate is a three-step process. The selection process is:
  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  3. Document Verification of the selected Candidates
1. Computer Based Test (CBT):
RRB Recruitment 2018 conducts CBT exam for the selection of Group D officers. The exam is of objective type. The exam is conducted of 100 questions with a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes (90 minutes). The exam will be conducted in 15 languages namely Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. The pattern for the CBT is given below for the reference:

Candidates should note that there will be negative marking for every wrong answer in the CBT. A penalty of 1/3rd of the marks is allotted for each wrong answer given by the candidate. To qualify the CBT exam the candidates must score the minimum score decided by the RRB. The Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility may vary for different categories. The minimum qualifying mark in CBT for various categories is listed below:

2.Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
RRB Recruitment 2018 will call the qualified candidates of the CBT for the second round of selection i.e, PET. According to the merit list will be two times the community wise total vacancy of the posts released in RRBs. It is mandatory for a candidate to clear the PET as it is a qualifying test. RRB has set few criteria for the PET selection. The eligibility criterion for PET is as follows:
(i) For Male Candidates:
  • The male candidate should be able to cover a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in a single chance.
  • He should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in a single chance without putting the weight down.
(ii) For Female Candidates:
  • The female candidate should be able to cover a distance of 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
  • She should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in a single chance without putting the weight down.
Candidates with disabilities are not included for the PET. Such candidates should clear the medical examination with respect to the disability of the person.

The candidates who clear the CBT and PET will be called for the Documentation Verification (DV) by RRB. DV is the final round in the RRB Recruitment 2018 selection process for Group D Officer. Candidates who are called for the document verification need to pass necessary medical fitness test which is performed by the Railway Administration. This is done in order to make sure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties for which they are selected. Other significant criteria of medical fitness for railway staff are Visual Acuity Standard.

When will RRB release the admit card for Group D exam?

RRB Recruitment 2018 will release the admit card for the CBT exam for RRB Group D. After the release of the admit card the candidates who have applied successfully can download the admit card. To download the admit card a candidate should have:
  • Registration Number/Roll Number
  • Date of Birth/Password
Candidates are advised to keep the Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth/Password for the future reference with respect to RRB Recruitment 2018. When will be the result of Group D RRB Recruitment 2018 announced?

RRB Recruitment 2018 will announce the results of the Group D exam. The result of the First Stage CBT of RRB will be announced after conducting the examination. At first, the result of the first Stage of CBT will be announced. Candidates who have qualified the first Stage of CBT will be called for the next level of the recruitment process, that is, Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates who clear the physical and medical test only will be called by RRB for Document verification and for further joining procedure.
