Rajasthan became 1st State of India to submit smart city plan on 14th December 2015. The State decided the city proposals of Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer districts.
NEW DELHI: Rajasthan has become the first state to submit smart city plans for three selected cities.
With December 15 (tomorrow) being the last date for submission of smart city plans, at least 15 of 98 selected cities are set to miss the deadline.
Manjit Singh, Rajasthan’s princial decretary (urban development), submitted smart city Proposals of Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer to Samir Sharma, additional secretary (urban development) on Monday morning.
Investment outlays proposed for developing these 3 cities as smart cities are : Kota Rs.1,493 cr, Ajmer-Rs.1,300 cr and Udaipur Rs 1,221 cr. Smart city proposal for Jaipur will be submitted later in the evening. Investment proposed for Jaipur is Rs.2,403 cr. In all, Rajasthan has proposed a total investment of Rs.6,457 cr for five years for developing four cities as smart cities.
