How to View PAN Card Details Using Name and Date of Birth?

  • Visit the E-filing website
  • Click the “Know your PAN“option.
  • In the following page that is opened, enter the surname, middle name, last name and date of birth.
  • Choose the Status whether the PAN is for individual or company or trust, etc.

  • Enter the captcha code.
  • OTP is sent to the registered mobile number.

Income tax department has provided a feature for the PAN card holders to create login id and password in the e-filing website. PAN Number will be the login ID and the person can create a password for security. The taxpayer are required to register in the e-filing website for filing income tax returns. One can also search for the address and other details by registering in the income tax e-filing portal. Follow the below steps to register and search for the PAN details.

  • Visit the income tax e-filing website
  • Choose “Register”.
  • Enter the details like name, date of birth, mobile number, email id and PAN number.
  • Once registered, an activation link is sent to the applicant’s email id along with the password to login.
  • With the account details, logon to the e-filing website.

What are the PAN Card Details Related to  NRI and Foreign Citizens? 

NRI and foreign citizens are not the same. When we say NRI and foreign citizens, there is a slight difference between the both. NRI are people who are born Indian and hold a Indian citizenship, but has settled abroad or taken up a job in the foreign countries. They can apply for a PAN to file taxes. Whereas the foreign citizens are person who hold a foreign country citizenship. Foreign citizens apply for PAN Card is because they may have been running some business in India and may be involved in business transactions in India, for which they are required to apply for a PAN. The same PAN card details asked for Indian Citizens are required for the application for new PAN card for NRI and foreign citizens. Few additional details are to be provided for applying PAN for the NRI and foreign citizens namely the passport number of the applicant, country of citizenship, introducer in India and contact address in India and the foreign residential address. When the NRI and a foreign citizen searches for the PAN Card details, the information received is same as that of the Indian Citizen except that there is one extra details provided.
