6 Indian-Americans to get top US research award


Six Indian-Americans are among the 106 people who will receive the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers from US President Barack Obama. Milind Kulkarni, Kiran Musunuru, Sachin Patel, Vikram Shyam, Shwetak Patel, and Rahul Mangharam are the recipients. The award, which is the US government’s highest honour for young independent researchers, will be handed out in Spring.”These early-career scientists are leading the way in our efforts to confront and understand challenges from climate change to our health and wellness,” Obama said, who will present the awards at a ceremony this spring.
