Job Description:

Work with stakeholders to review and understand the business requirements and design specifications
Interact extensively with various on/off-site team members from their own teams, including members from other teams such as Function & Product, to understand application functionality and scope
Involved in quality outcome of application hence ensure the deliverables meet the business requirements with no serious defects
Responsible for writing manual test scripts/cases
Responsible for setting up test data, tools, and databases to support integrated test environments and writing SQL queries wherever required for database testing.
Work with the development team on defect triage
Develop and maintain any of smoke, functional, and regression tests to ensure code is functioning as designed
Troubleshoot defects and manage defect tracking and resolution processes so that a consistent, documented process is used and followed
Maintain well organized records of test results and historical analysis of test results
Become and remain proficient in all programs necessary to perform the everyday duties of this position
Exposure to software release/build process/SDLC required. Experience testing web applications.
Monitor and execute tests on all projects under the responsible program portfolio; producing test reports of progress against time and quality, defects severity, distribution and priority rating, impact assessments, trends over the project etc

Candidate Profile:

Great oral & written communication skills, including strong work ethic. Able to read and interpret complex written information.
Experience with data retrieval and validation using SQL or Oracle PL/SQL.
Proficient in MS Office and especially creating of Excel Macros.
Understanding of different SDLC methodologies – Agile, or Waterfall software development processes.
Ability to attain results, convey a sense of urgency and drive issues to closure, persists despite obstacles and opposition, sets high standards of performance and pursues challenging goals
Strong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics
Customer or end-user focused and has ability to manage expectations
Good knowledge of industry best test practice


Hands on experience:
JavaHands on Experience with BDD tools like Cucumber, Fitness or Concordian
Maintaining and analyzing automated test scripts
Good understanding of:
object oriented design & concepts
the software/product development life cycle
