Applications are invited from Indian nationals for engagement of 8 (eight) Research Associates at Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata purely on temporary basis under the project “Development of Scientific Infrastructure for Basic and Applied Research”.
i. The tenure of fellowship is initially for a period of one year, which may be extended for maximum another one year depending upon the availability of fund and satisfactory performance of the candidate during the preceding year:-
1. Position: Research Associates
2. No of Post: 08
3. Essential Qualification:
a. Candidate with regular/provisional Ph.D. in Electronics or Computer Science from any recognized Institute/University;
b. Candidate with regular/provisional Ph.D. in Relativistic Heavy Ion Theory.
c. Candidate with regular/provisional Ph.D. in Nuclear Theory or Nuclear Astrophysics.
d. Candidate with regular/provisional Ph.D. in Experimental High Energy Physics.
e. Candidate with regular/provisional Ph.D. in Experimental Nuclear Physics.
f. Candidate with regular/provisional Ph.D. in Material Science (expertise in first principle calculation of defects using Molecular Dynamics and Density Functional Theory).
4. Fellowship:
A fellowship of an amount of Rs.47,000/- (Rupees Forty seven thousand) per month only plus Contingency Grant of Rs.40,000/- per annum and HRA (if hostel accommodation is not provided) and other facilities as admissible as per the Institution’s Rules.

General Information:
1. The selected candidates will be informed by post and by email.
2. The final induction of the selected candidates as Research Associate will be subject to verification of all the relevant documents, i.e.,

Date of birth, marks sheets, certificates, list of publications highlighting their contribution to the field as well as 2 (two) recommendation letters issued by faculty members of the Institute last attended/one from any faculty member of the Institute last attended and one from the PhD supervisor, soft copy of the synopsis, soft copy of Ph.D. thesis, contact address of two referees (one of them should be Ph.D. supervisor), Aadhar card and all other relevant documents as applicable.
4. Candidates selected for Research Associate (RA) are required to produce No Objection Certificate (NOC), if he/she is in employment under any Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Corporations/Local Govt. etc
5. The Centre reserves the right not to fill up the associateship at any time if it so desires
6. The associateship shall not confer any claim or right for regular employment in this Centre or in any of the constituent units under Department of Atomic Energy.
7. Candidate is cautioned not to furnish any incomplete, false or misleading information or submit any document which is defective, forged or fabricated or otherwise not admissible or claim fraudulently to be SC/ST/OBC/Person with Disability, etc. or resort to any sort of malpractice during the selection process.
8. Notwithstanding verification of original documents during various stages of the selection process, if any such case is detected at any stage of the selection process or later on, this Centre reserves the right to withdraw/cancel candidature or selection apart from taking other appropriate legal action.

Screened in/shortlisted candidates have to attend presentation cum interview at VECC campus, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700 064. The schedule for the presentation cum interview will be informed to the candidates, in due course of time.
