Applications from eligible candidates are invited by the Goa State Pollution Control Board for filling up the following post, on regular basis. Interested candidates registered with Employment Exchange in Goa and possessing the required qualifications may apply:
1. Name of the post: Scientist 'B'
2. No. of posts 01 no. (General category)
3. Pay scale: Rs. 15600 - 39100 + Grade pay Rs. 5400/-
4. Essential: Masters Degree in Chemistry / any branch of Environmental Sciences / with atleast 10 years experience in pol!ution control or related field in a Government organization or in any other industrial or related establishment or MoEFCC recognized / Accredited Laboratory OR a Doctorate n any of the above subjects with 5 years experience in pollution control or related field in a Government organization / registered societies I institutions or in any other MoEFCC recognized / Accredited Laboratory or Industrial or related establishments oraanization

General Conditions
1. Late, incomplete applications and not fulfilling the requirements in any manner are liable to be rejected summarily by the Board ..
2. Prescribed Educational qualifications mentioned above are minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle the applicants to be called for the competitive written examination.
3. Only eligible candidates fulfilling the criteria as per recruitment rules/ advertisement shall apply. However, the candidature of shortlisted shall not be considered, if he / she is found ineligible at the time of verification of essential documents, even though he/ she has passed the competitive written examination ..
4. A competitive written examination shall be held for the eligible candidates for short listing and selection.
5. The total marks of competitive written examination shall be 100 and duration of competitive written examination shall be two hours.
6. Only those candidates scoring 65 marks and above in the competitive written examination shall be called for the oral interview
7. The Board shall invite five times the number of candidates as against the number of vacancies advertised for the oral interview purely on merit of the competitive written examination. In case there are more candidates securing the same number of marks as the last candidate, all such candidates shall also be called for the oral interview
8. The marks for oral interview are 40. Candidates called for oral interview should obtain a minimum of 50% to be eligible for final selection.
9. The final selection shall be in the order of merit based on the competitive written examination marks scored and the oral interview.
10. The syllabus and scheme of examination shall encompass questions based on essential qualifications, general knowledge, reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude etc. commensurate with the degree I level of understandinz required for the post.
11. The entire result shall be published on the Notice Board of the Board, as well as on the portal: goaspcb.gov.in and www.goa.gov.in.
12. No T AIDA shall be naid for attending the written examination
13. The selection of candidates is further subiect to the relevant rules in force
14. The Board shall draw a waiting list, which shall lapse on declaration of the date of a subsequent examination for the same category or after a period of one year from the date of preparation of such wait list, whichever is earlier.
