Responsibilities

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to work in a startup-like environment and enjoy tough challenges. You will partner with key Azure platform teams to create products that enable operators to adopt Azure to host their core network infrastructure and operations. Our market opportunity is huge, and our team is expanding.

You will join us in building an Azure-based on-premises telecommunications cloud platform to host operator grade network functions in operators’ premises. The team’s primary focus is to design, build and manage the networking fabric for the telecommunications cloud. You will collaborate with several teams to build a network fabric orchestration and lifecycle management service that operates across public clouds, telecommunications operator datacenters and the edge.

As a Senior Network Engineer you will contribute to the NFVi product design, and be responsible for architecting solutions from the ground-up.

You will

• Design network configurations based on requirements defined by telecommunications operators
• Partner with several network equipment vendors to identify the right network platforms for telecom use cases
• Perform proofs of concept to validate feasibility of designs on various hardware platforms
• Validate design, interoperability, scale and reliability of configurations intended to be automated by the network fabric automation service
• Act as the subject matter expert for all network configurations applied to our telecommunications network cloud product
• Guide and support software development engineers in building the right level of automation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in commercial software development
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field
• Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software
• Ability to engage in site-reliability engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to learn and grasps concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Great problem solving skills and outstanding drive for results
• Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence
• Self-starter, who proactively identifies problems and drives for resolution
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes
• Advanced technical degree (MS/PhD) is a plus
