Applications are invited for 02 (two) posts of Library & Information Oficer in the Pay Matrix Level-II of Rs. 67,700-2.08,700/ -by the Composite Method of promotion/deputation (including short term contract) in Delhi Public Library.

1. Eligibility conditions:  Promotion/ Deputation (including short Term Contract) : Departmental Assistant Library & Information Officer in the Pay Matrix Level-07 (Rs. with 7 years regular service in the grade and Officers Of the Central/State Govt., Central/ State Autonomous Bodies/ Public Undertakings.

a) Holding analogous post On regular basis; OR with 5 years regular service in the post in pay matrix level-09 of Rs. 53, 100-1,67 ,800/- Or 7 years service in the pay level - 7 Rs. Or equivalent.

b) Possessing the educational qualifications & experience as under.

2. Essential : Master Degree in Library Science or Lib. & Inf. Science of a recognized University/ Institute or equivalent. 5 years professional experience in a supervisory capacity in a Library under Central / State Government / Autonomous or Statutory organization/PSU/University or Recognized Research or Educational Institution In case the departmental officer is selected, his/her appointment will be treated to have been made by promotion.

3. Desirable: Experience Of computerizing library activities.

4. Number of Post: 02.

5. Note- : The period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization / department shall ordinarily not exceed 4 years.

6. Job Specification : i) To control and to look after the work of the Zonal Libraries.

ii) To conduct inspection of libraries, preparation of inspection reports; follow-up action on inspection report, public relation activities with the respective RWA of the Zone and with professional organizations and groups.

iii) To advise libraries in toning-up professional work.

iv) Book Selection for units, compilation of monthly statistics, Checking of withdrawn/discard, binding of books and to report to SLIO / Director General.
