BHEL invites applications for 01 post of Lead Consultant for Rolling Stock Business in the area of Transportation Business for its Industry Sector. The position shall be based at New Delhi or any other location as decided by the management.

1. Position: Lead Consultant
2. No of Post: 01
3. Period of Engagement: The period of engagement shall be for one year which can be further extended by a period up to one year at a time or till the completion of assignment (whichever is earlier). However, the maximum tenure shall be limited to five years or up to 65 years of age. (whichever is earlier).
4. Qualification Requirements: The applicant must possess Full Time Engineering degree (B.E./ B.Tech./B.Sc. Engg.) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Any higher technical qualification if any would be preferable.
5. Experience (As of 1st of June, 2022): The applicant should possess the following experience: The applicant should have experience of working for more than 30 years with Indian Railways/Metro Railways. Out of the above, the Applicant should have at least 5 years’ experience in Senior Administrative Grade (Level-14) or above with exposure to Rolling stocks for Indian Railways or Metro segment. Out of the above 30 years’ experience, the Applicant should have at least 4 years’ experience of Design Review of Propulsion System, Bogie and other components of Locomotives/Metro/Train Sets/EMU/MEMU.
6. Desirable experience: Applicant should have at least 2 years’ experience of testing, oscillation and Performance trial of Electric Locomotives/Metro/EMU/Train Sets rakes. Applicant should have at least 2 years’ experience of Operation Management and Maintenance of Electric Locomotives/Metro/EMU/ Train Sets rakes.
General Instructions:

4. BHEL reserves the right to cancel/restrict/ enlarge/reopen the engagement process, if the need so arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason thereof.
5. Applicants should only apply online at www.careers.bhel.in. The application submission is in two stages. In the first stage, applicant has to fill in the required details as per form. Thereafter, a private login on the link “Latest Status” would be created, wherein the applicant would be required to upload the necessary documents. The complete application form should comprise of the following:
a. Letter of Interest (LoI) for the said position.
b. Necessary documents to substantiate Eligibility details as referred in Application form, including DOB Proof, Graduation & PG Qualification, Comprehensive Biodata and Service certificate/ Experience Certificate(s) including last payslip.
6. The applicant must ensure that the status of both the stages of application form is reflected as “COMPLETED”. Only then, the application form will be considered for candidature.
7. Responsibility of uploading the necessary documents shall be with the Applicant. The applicant can view the documents uploaded in their login. Maximum Size of the document to be uploaded has been described against the upload link. BHEL does not take responsibility of attaching the documents separately or receiving them in any subsequent mail.
8. The uploaded documents shall be in legible form- i.e. the contents should be readable. Upload of blurred/edited images will lead to disqualification of the candidature.
9. No hard copy application shall be entertained.
10. Job Description:
The Lead Consultant should provide Professional Advice/Assistance to BHEL, Industry Sector/ TBSG in the following areas:
1. Identifying the new business opportunities, Developing and strengthening the systems and processes to improve business in Train Sets, HHP Locos, Metro, Locomotive Overhauling business etc.
2. Liaison with customers i.e. Indian Railways and other Metro authorities etc. for addressing new identified opportunities/ markets in a time bound manner.
3. Provide assistance to BHEL top management for apex level reviews and coordination meeting with higher authorities of Indian Railways and other agencies etc.
4. Provide assistance in Design Review of Propulsion System, Bogie and other components of Locomotives/Metro/Train Sets/EMU/MEMU.
5. Provide assistance for Deciding scope of work for overhauling/AMC of Locomotives and Trainsets.
6. Provide assistance for improvement in reliability of Propulsion System and other components.
7. Identifying CAPEX Instalment for up-gradation of existing infrastructure/facilities at Nominated sites of Indian Railways.
8. Any other task in transportation as per organisational requirements.
Selection Process for BHEL Recruitment 2022
1. The applications, received against the notification, will be scrutinized by a committee and the shortlisted candidates may be then called for an interaction, if required, by a duly constituted Selection Board.
2. The outside candidates called for the interaction shall be reimbursed the travel expenses as given below:
a) By Rail: AC-First Class
b) By Air: By Economy Class Air fare
c) By Road: Actuals, limited to Train fare
