Nagaland is the state located in northeast India. It
shares border with state of Assam to the west, Arunachal Pradesh and part of Assam
to the north, Burma to the east and Manipur to the south. The capital city of
the state is Kohima and the state’s largest city is Dimapur. Total area of the
state is 16,579 square kilometers and population of the state is 1,980,602 as
per the 2011 census. So, it considered smallest state of India. In 1963, it
becomes the 16th state of India. Most important economic activity is
agriculture and some of the major crops are rice, corn, millets, pulses,
tobacco, oilseeds, sugarcane, potatoes, and fibers. Forestry, tourism, insurance, real estate, and
miscellaneous cottage industries are also other significant economic activity.
