Essential Qualifications: Post graduate degree (MD Microbiology/Clinical Pathology) with five year R&D/teaching experience or Postgraduate diploma in relevant subjects with six years R&D/teaching experience from recognized university. or Second Class M.Sc (Life Sciences) + Ph.D degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry from a recognized University with 8 years’ experience after completion of M.Sc + Ph.D. Out of above mentioned experience, 2 years must be in a managerial position to handle R&D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity.
Desirable Qualifications: Doctorate degree in relevant subject for candidates with first class Master degree or MD in the relevant subject from a recognized university, Additional Post doctoral research / teaching experience in recognized Institute(s). Publication in relevant field in high impact factor journals Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/Data.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years. Relax-able up to 5 years for Government Servants and SC/ST/OBC Candidates SC/ST/OBC in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard.
Job Requirements: The incumbent is expected to join a multidisciplinary team of researchers at the institute working on
projects aimed at control of HIV infection. The incumbent is required to plan and execute research studies in the field of opportunistic infections (OI) and sexually transmitted infections (STI) in HIV infected individuals. He/she is expected to participate and provide technical assistance for epidemiology andclinical research being carried out at institute. The scientist is also expected to participate in scientific administration, training and guidance to junior faculty. We are looking forward to an energetic innovative scientist with interests in diagnostics/ disease surveillance/ HIV prevention and OI/STI prevention related activities. Any job assigned by the Director of the institute and the Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research.
