New Update on 30-03-2021: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will release the WBJEE 2021 Merit List online after the WBJEE result is announced and candidates can check it from the link provided in the article. The WBJEE Merit List 2021 will be issued only through online mode after the declaration of WBJEE Result 2021. On providing application number and password details, candidates will be able to check and download the WBJEE Merit List 2021 PDF. The authorities will release General merit list (GMR) for WBJEE 2021. However, category wise WBJEE Merit List 2021 pdf will be prepared for SC rank, ST rank, OBC-A rank, OBC-B rank, PwD rank and TFW rank. Authority will conduct the Counselling session after WBJEE Merit List 2021 release.

Rank obtained in WBJEE exam 2021
Name of the candidate opposite the rank
Marks obtained in Mathematics section
Marks obtained in the section of Chemistry and Physics
Total marks obtained in WBJEE 2021

How will the WBJEE Merit List 2021 be prepared?

Ranks are allotted based on the score of candidates in WBJEE 2021 exam.
Marks shall be calculated after considering objections raised against the provisional WBJEE answer key.
General Merit List (GMR) and a category wise merit list for WBJEE 2021 will be issued.
WBJEE rank list will be ordered from highest to lowest rank based on marks scored by candidates
In case of candidates has got the same marks, normalization/tie breaker rule shall be followed
10% seats in all Self-Financed Engineering & Technology colleges in West Bengal are reserved for JEE Main qualified candidates.

What is Tie-Breaking Process for WBJEE Merit List 2021?

Those having less negative aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be allotted a higher rank.
If the tie exists, those who secured more positive marks in Mathematics and Physics are given a higher rank.
Thereafter, candidates with more positive marks in Mathematics and Chemistry are allotted a higher rank.
Then, those with more positive marks in Mathematics, only for 2 mark questions are given a higher rank.
If the tie still persists, those with more positive marks in Physics for only 2 mark questions are given a higher rank.
After this, he/she with more positive marks in Chemistry for only 2 mark questions are given a higher rank.
If the tie is still present, candidates with less negative marks in Mathematics for only 2 mark questions are allotted a higher rank.
Candidates with less negative marks in Physics for only 2 mark questions are given a higher rank.
Finally, if the tie still remains, the elder candidate is allotted a higher rank.
