UGC NET syllabus 2020

NTA will conduct the UGC NET 2020 June session in online mode. In order to prepare for the exam to get a clear idea of the syllabus and paper pattern, NTA has also released Mock Tests for the examination on its official website. The University Grants Commission (UGC), under the supervision of NTA, decides the UGC NET syllabus for its aspirants. Based on the different subjects, a planned detailed syllabus prescribed by UGC is available for the candidates. The syllabus of UGC NET in detail will help the candidates to identify what to study and what not to study for the entrance exam.

UGC NET Syllabus 2020 - Paper 1

Paper 1 has been planned in order to check the teaching skills and research capabilities of the candidates. General awareness with context to the teaching profile combined with cognitive abilities is tested in this section. There are a total of ten sections/subjects that cover the entire Paper 1 of UGC NET 2020. UGC NET Syllabus 2020 - FAQ

1. What is the syllabus of UGC NET?  

The syllabus for UGC NET exam includes all the topics that candidates need to prepare for paper-I and -II.

2. Who prescribes UGC NET syllabus?  

The University Grants Commission (UGC) prescribes UGC NET syllabus for all papers and subjects.

3. What is the marking scheme for UGC NET Paper-I and paper-II?  

Two marks are awarded for each correct answer in the UGC NET paper-I and -II. There is no negative marking in the exam.

4. Which type of questions are asked in UGC NET exam?  

Objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are asked in UGC NET exam. There are no subjective questions in the exam.

5. What is the duration of UGC NET exam?  

Candidates need to complete attempting both the NET papers in a duration of three hours. The UGC NET exam is held for total 81 subjects.
