Periyar University is a university in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The Government of Tamil Nadu established it in 1997. Periyar university imparts higher education through its Departments of Study and Research, Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE), and the Affiliated Colleges. The 29 departments offer research programs apart from postgraduate and some certificate programs. Also, the five departments at the PG Extension Centre, Dharmapuri, offers Post Graduate programs. Candidates can apply for the Ph.D. and Part-time programs online through the official website
For M.Phil and Ph.D. Programs, Candidates must have completed post-graduation in the relevant stream. Selection based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination.
Admission to all PG courses will be made based on marks secured in the graduate degree except for MBA & MCA
For MBA and MCA admission done based on marks obtained in TANCET.

About Periyar University M.Phil And Ph.D. Admission- 2020

Periyar University offers M.Phil and Ph.D. courses to the students in various specializations. The duration of these two programs is one and two years, respectively.
Aspiring Candidates who have qualified for Post Graduate Degree (any biological science) of this University or equivalent Degree with 55% of marks can apply for M.Phil.
Students holding recognized Master's Degree or recognized equivalent Master's Degrees (M.Sc with Microbiology/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry or an allied area) to be considered Qualify for registration for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the subjects with at least 55% marks or equivalent grades can apply Ph.D.
Admissions seats will allot based on marks secured in the Entrance Exam and Performance in the interview, conducted by the University.

Details about Application Procedure for Ph.D.

Students can apply online through the official website. Aspirants can pay the application fee through the demand draft to fill the details.
Take the print out copy of your application submitted. Sent the print out copies along with the applicant's Signature, Demand Draft / Bank Challan, and necessary attachments and send it to the Registrar, Periyar University, Salem 636 011 on or before July 28, 2020.
Fee Payment: INR 1000 (INR 500 for SC/ ST/ Differently Abled).

What are the Documents Required for Filling the Application Form?

Class 10 and 12 Marksheet
Copies of Provisional or Degree, Certificates of UG, PG, and M. Phil.
Copies of Mark Statements/Consolidated Mark Statements of PG Degree.
Copy of Community Certificate
Copies of Mark Statements or Consolidated Mark Statements of PG Degree
Copy of Common Entrance Test Result / SET / NET/ GATE clearance Certificates

Periyar University PG Admissions-2020

At the PG level, Periyar University offers various courses to the candidates seeking admission in MA, M.Com. And M.Sc. courses. The duration of these courses is two years. Also, the university offers a Master of Library and Information Science, and its duration is one year. Periyar University MBA, MCA, M.Ed Admissions- 2020

Periyar University offers MCA (aided and self-supportive), MCA (assisted and self-supportive lateral entry), and MBA to the students who seek to take admission at the postgraduate level. There are 71, 142, and 200 seats available for each program, respectively. The duration for MCA (aided and self-supportive) is for three years, and the rest is two years. For MCA, candidates need to appear in TANCET, which is an online entrance examination for the mentioned course. Aspirants who are willing to seek Entry in MBA will need to perform either in TANCET/MAT followed by group discussion & personal interview.

Periyar University B.Ed, M.Ed Admission-2020

Periyar University offered courses in the stream of Education, such as B.Ed and M.Ed. The duration for these two programs is of two years each. B. Ed and M.Ed are merit-based, and students selected based on their marks obtained in the entrance and qualifying exams.
