NTSE Exam 2021 - The National Talent Search Examinations NTSE Exam 2021 for the class 10 students Stage I conducted in the different states on December 13, 2020, The students who qualify for the examination will be able to appear for stage two of the examinations which conducted on 14 Feb 2021. NCERT has conducted stage 2 NTSE 2020 exam at 58 centres. This exam is conducted to recognize talented students who have a high intellectual level and to reward them with scholarships. NTSE Exam 2021 - Class 10 Exam Stage II Rescheduled @ ncert.nic.in

New Update 15-02-2021: NTSE Exam 2021 - The National Talent Search Examinations for the class 10 students Stage I were conducted in the different states on December 13, 2020. Paper 1 of the examination was conducted from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM for 100 marks. In contrast, paper 2 - Scholastic Aptitude Test - paper 2 was conducted for 100 marks consisting of Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. According to the details mentioned on the official website regarding the NTSE examinations, the students who qualify for the NTSE examinations will receive a monthly scholarship from the National Council of Educational Research and Training. The exam was conducted at 58 centers across 40 cities including Kavaratti, Port Blair, Srinagar, Gangtok, Kolkata, Chennai, etc. A total of 7,586 students appeared for the stage 2 exam,as per the details shared by NCERT. NTSE Exam 2021 - National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a scholarship exam conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for identifying talented students who want to pursue higher education in Science and Social Studies streams. The exam is conducted for students studying in class 10th. NTSE is conducted at two stages. The stage 1 exam is conducted at the state-level by all states and UTs, while NTSE stage 2 is conducted by NCERT at the national level only for those students who qualify the stage 1 exam. The students qualifying in NTSE stage 1 are eligible to appear for the Stage II exam. The NTSE scheme aims to award a scholarship to talented students, who wish to pursue higher education in Science and Social Studies stream, to help continue their education. What is the Eligibility for NTSE Exam 2021?

The NCERT has mentioned some eligibility criteria for the candidates who are willing to apply for the NTSE 2021 exam. These include nationality, educational qualification, age limit, reservation and many more. Some of them are explained in details below:

1. Nationality:

  • Candidates applying for the NTSE 2021 must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidates who are studying in 10th standard in any Indian school or any schools in abroad can also apply. Indian candidates studying abroad can directly appear for the NTSE stage 2 exam.

2. Educational Qualification:

The awardees must secure a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade in every academic year to be eligible for the NTSE 2021 exam.

3. Age Limit:

The upper age limit for both the Indian candidates and students of Indian origin studying abroad is 18 years for the NTSE Stage I examination.

4. NTSE Exam Reservation:

The NCERT allots few seats for reserved category students. The general category candidates should secure at least 40% marks in each of the NTSE exam paper. The reserved category students need to secure at least 32% marks in each of the NTSE exams. The reservation percentage for all the categories are listed below:

What are the Features of NTSE Exam Pattern 2021?

  • Exam mode – Pen-paper based test (answers to be marked on OMR sheets)
  • Exam Medium – The language/medium of instructions and questions will be of candidates’ choice from the language options provided by the exam conducting body for State-level examination. The NTSE stage 1 will be in English, Hindi or any regional language. The stage 2 exam will be in Hindi and English medium only. Candidates are required to select the medium of paper while applying for the exam.
  • Total exam duration – 120 minutes for all candidates except visually challenged candidates who are provided 150 minutes for all papers.

What are the Details of NTSE 2021 Stage 1 and 2 Admit Card?

SCERT of all States and UTs will start releasing the NTSE admit cards 2021 from the last week of November in the online mode. SCERT Punjab will release the NTSE Punjab admit card 2021 on December 1 on the official website. Students will be required to download the admit card and take its print copy. Students in states like Chhattisgarh will need to collect their NTSE admit card from school. It is mandatory to carry the NTSE 2021 admit card on the exam day. No students will be allowed to write the examination without it. The NTS stage 1 exam is scheduled to be conducted on December 12 and 13, 2020. The candidates who submit the NTSE 2021 application form completely and correctly will be issued NTSE admit card for stage I exam by their respective State/UT liaison officer. The candidates could obtain NTSE stage 1 admit card 2021 either in the online mode or in the offline mode from the school officials or the state liaison officer at least a week before the exam date. 

The release of NTSE Exam 2021 admit card for Stage 2 is delayed due to postponement of the exam amid COVID19 pandemic. The NTSE Stage 2 admit card 2020 was expected to release by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in the second week of April on its official website. Candidates who cleared the Stage 1 NTSE from all states and UTs will need to download the NTSE stage 2 admit card 2020 and carry the same on the exam day. NTSE Stage 2 was earlier scheduled to be conducted on May 10. The new exam date is yet to be announced. Those who forget to carry their admit card on the day of exam will not be allowed to write the test.

What are the Details of NTSE Result 2021 for Stage 1 and 2?

All States and UTs will release the NTSE Exam 2021 result of Stage 1 on the official websites of SCERT from January. Many states announce the NTSE Result in the form of a merit list that includes the names of all shortlisted candidates. Others release the NTSE scores for all participants along with a separate merit list. Also, along with the result, all states and UTs release the NTSE cutoff 2020. The cutoff states the least marks a candidate needs to score to qualify for the stage 2 exam. NTSE 2021 Stage I will be conducted on November 7 and 8, 2020, in the offline mode by all States and UTs.

NTS 2021 Stage 2 will be conducted in May 2021 by NCERT at the national level. The NTSE Stage 2 result 2021 is expected to be out in September 2021 in the online mode by NCERT. The new date for the conduct of the exam is yet to be released by NCERT. Candidates will be able to check their NTSE result using their roll number and date-of-birth. NTSE stage 2 result 2020 will be provided in the form of provisional result and will comprise student’s score details along with their OMR response sheet of NTSE exam. Students need to verify their NTSE stage 2 result 2020 using their response sheet and answer key and report for any discrepancy before the last date. NCERT declares the final result of the National Talent Search Examination in the form of category-wise merit lists. Stage 2 cutoff marks will also be released along with NTSE result 2020 for Stage 2.
