New Update on 31.10.2022: NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2022 - - National Institute of Fashion Technology prescribed the NIFT 2022 eligibility criteria which candidates have to fulfil. Before applying for admission to any of the NIFT campuses, aspirants must ensure that they meet the NIFT eligibility 2022 requirements. The NIFT 2022 eligibility criteria outline the educational qualifications, age limit, and other crucial characteristics that students must meet in order to be eligible to take the NIFT entrance exam. Candidates with a B.Des or a B.Tech degree are eligible to apply online. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) holds a pen-and-paper exam at the national level to admit students to design programmes at 17 NIFT campuses. 1. Aspiring students must have completed 10+2 board exam from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi or, 2. Any Board/Public School/University Examination conducted in India or abroad which is equivalent to 10+2 system, and it is accorded by the Association of Indian Universities or, 3. If candidates complete the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Sri Lanka/ Cambridge/) at the Advanced (A) level/International Baccalaureate (IB) then, they are eligible to apply or, 4. Students will also be eligible if they have passed the 10+2 Examination conducted by the National Open School with at least five subjects or, 5. Diploma of 3 or 4 years recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education. |
Candidates must be of 23 years of age as of October 1, 2022. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP) get a relaxation of 5 years. |

Students must pass the Class 12 exam in the 10+2 pattern of examination with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject from any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi or, 2. Any Public School/Board/University Exams in India or foreign countries equivalent to a 10+2 system with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics as a mandatory subject. It must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or, 3. General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination(London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/International Baccalaureate (IB) or, 4. Diploma of 3 or 4 years in any programme of engineering which is recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education or, 5. A passing grade in the Higher Secondary Education Examination held by the National Open School with at least five subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics |

NIFT Eligibility Criteria- Important Point

Students appearing in the final exam of the qualifying exam can also apply for NIFT 2022.

If the Class 12/ final year / final semester exam result is not yet announced until the NIFT counselling procedure, students will be strictly provisional subject to the following conditions.

Students will have to submit the final result of the qualifying exam before September 30, 2021.

Candidates have to submit duly to sign an affidavit of Rs.10 on a non-judicial stamp paper. The candidate’s parent/guardian must sign the affidavit if he/she is less than 18 years of age.

Candidates seeking provisional admission as the final result of their qualifying exam is awaited for declaration. Students have to submit proof that they have passed all the papers of the previous years/ semesters of the qualifying exam.

Students appearing for compartment examination(s) of 10+2 standard will be considered only for provisional admission. But, they are required to pass the compartment exam from the same board. If candidates fail to complete, then the candidature will be automatically cancelled from the provisional admission and forfeiture of the entire fee.

Apart from the eligibility criteria mentioned in the above table, the following are few of the norms which students will be eligible to apply for NIFT 2022 in a certain condition.
