New Update on 22-03-2023: NEST 2023 - The NEST 2023 Application Form was made available on February 27, 2023. A national entrance exam known as the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is jointly administered by the NISER, Bhubaneswar, and UMDAE-CEBS, Mumbai. For applicants to the Integrated M.Sc. programme at NISER, Bhubaneswar, and UM-DAE CEBS, Bombay, NEST is a required entrance test. The successful applicants will be admitted to the Integrated M.Sc. programmes of both participating institutes through this exam. What is the NEST 2023 Eligibility Criteria?
Candidates, before getting admission, must reach the eligibility criteria. Candidates check the details mentioned NEST 2023 exam is as follows:

Candidates should be a Class XII pass in the science stream from a recognized board in India with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. (55% for SC/PwD category candidates)

Candidates must have passed Class XII either in 2018 or 2019.

Candidates who have appeared for their Class XII exams in 2020 are also eligible to apply.

Candidates must have studied a combination of biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics in classes XI and XII.
Age Criteria
Candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories should be born on or after August 1, 2000, to fulfil the NEST eligibility criteria. Age limit relaxation of five years is given to candidates belonging to SC/ ST /Divyangjan category.
What is the NEST 2023 Admission Process?
Candidates can go through the steps they need to follow to secure admission through the NEST exam successfully.
Step 1: Fill NEST Application Form
For NEST 2023 registrations, candidates will be required to fill the application form in the online mode on the official website of the exam. After all details on the NEST application form are filled, candidates must pay the application fee. Candidates can pay the NEST 2023 application fee online (through credit/ debit card) mode.

Candidates must not send any document to the NEST office in the complete application process, informs by the official website.
Step 2: Download NEST Admit Card
After successful payment of the application fee, candidates need to download their NEST 2023 admit card from the official website of the exam. The admit card download link will be available only till the day of the examination, states the official website.
It may be noted that the NEST admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre.
Step 3: Appear for NEST
Next, candidates need to appear for the Science entrance exam at the allotted NEST exam centre. NEST 2023 exam will contain five sections carrying multiple-choice questions. Candidates need to complete the exam in three hours.
Step 4: Check NEST Result
NEST 2023 results will be declared on the official website of the exam. NEST merit list/ result will contain the roll numbers and/or names of candidates qualifying for the integrated MSc entrance exam.
Step 5: Appear for NEST Counselling
Finally, candidates need to appear for the counseling session, where they will be allotted seats in their respective courses and colleges.
What is the NEST 2023 Exam Pattern?

Exam Mode and Date: NEST 2023 will be conducted on August 10th 2020, online (CBT) mode.

Type of Questions: The question paper will consist of objective type of questions.

Time Duration: The time duration to complete the exam paper will be 3 hours.

Sections: The question paper will consist of a total of five sections. Section 1 will be the General Section (Compulsory). Section 2 will contain questions from Biology, Section 3 from Chemistry, Section 4 from Mathematics and Section 5 from Physics. Candidates have to attempt any three other sections after attempting Section I.

Total Marks: The exam paper will be of a total of 230 marks.

Marking Scheme: There will be no negative marking for answering wrong responses except in Section 1. Also, there will be more than one correct answer in some questions, and candidates will get points only by marking all the correct answers and no wrong answer.

What is the NEST 2023 Syllabus?
The authority has published NEST 2023 syllabus through online mode. The questions in the exam will be asked from the syllabus of the 11th and 12th level. The question paper will contain questions from the General Section, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics subjects. Candidates must review the complete syllabus before starting their preparation. Exams 2023 - FAQ
National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS).
There are a total of 200 seats offered for NEST by NISER and 57 seats offered by CEBS.
The online examination of NEST 2023 is held in two sessions with a duration of three hours and thirty minutes for each session. NEST 2023 will have objective type questions with MCQs.
The applicants can not apply for the change of NEST 2023 exam centre. The exam centre once allotted in the admit card of NEST 2023 cannot be changed.
Candidates must have documents such as scanned copy of signature, scanned copy of passport size photograph and highschool and intermediate marksheets.
