Introduction to NATA 2019

NATA 2019 exams are conducted for the students to get admission into five year course of B.Arch programmes. NATA exam which is conducted by the Council of Architecture is a national level undergraduate examination and is conducted twice a year. Earlier it was conducted only once in a year and is now two times in a year to provide extra opportunity for the students. Students can attempt both the exams and the highest of the two exams will be considered. National Aptitude Test in Architecture for the year 2019 is conducted on 14th April 2019 and the second time exam is conducted on 7th July 2019. Earlier the diploma students were able to attend NATA exams. But now the eligibility criteria of NATA exams are modified and diploma students are permitted to take up NATA exams. NATA exam has two papers and paper 1 is based on online exam with multiple choice questions. Whereas paper 2 is an offline exam with drawings and related questions.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for NATA 2019?

There are certain eligibility conditions that a student should satisfy in order to appear for NATA 2019. If the eligibility criteria is not satisfied, the application forms may get rejected. So far the diploma students were allowed to appear for NATA exams. But from 2019 - 2020 academic year, it is decided that diploma students are not eligible to appear for NATA exams. Some of the eligibility conditions are listed below.

  • Age

Students should be at least 17 years of age as on 31st July 2019.

  • Qualifying exam

Students must have completed 10+2 exams to appear for NATA 2019.

  • Qualifying marks

Students who apply for NATA should have scored 50% in maths, physics and chemistry. Also should have 50% in aggregate of these subjects.

How to Apply for NATA 2019 Exams?

Students can easily apply for NATA 2019 through online mode by following the few steps that are provided below.

  1. Registration

Candidates should primarily register for NATA by using their name, mobile number, email id and date of birth. Students should provide a valid mobile number and email id as they will be receiving notifications on the provided number. Students should create a username and password to use it to login.

  1. Fill the application form

Once the user id is registered, one should fill in all the details namely personal, academic details and should also mention the preference of their exam centre.

  1. Uploading documents

The next step is that students should scan and upload the necessary documents according to the specifications provided in the below given table.

  1. Generation of NATA application number

Recheck all the details and documents uploaded before submitting. Once the application form is submitted, students will obtain the application number.

  1. Payment of fees

Application process is completed only when the payment of application fees is done. Students can pay the fees only through online mode using netbanking, debit or credit card. Once the payment is made, the receipt should be taken a print out for reference and further uses. The fees structure of NATA 2019 is provided in the below table.

What is NATA 2019 Exam Pattern?

Students should be aware of the NATA 2019 exam pattern before appearing for the exam. Council of Architecture has made certain changes to the duration of the exam for NATA 2019. The duration of the drawing exam was 90 minutes earlier and now it has increased to 120 minutes. But simultaneously the council has reduced the duration of the maths and aptitude test to 60 minutes which was earlier 90 minutes. Check the important details in the table given below.

What is NATA 2019 Mock Test?

NATA 2019 mock test will be conducted by the respective authority before the real NATA exams. The main purpose of the mock test is to help students to understand how the real exam is conducted and it will be practise for the students to attempt online mode of exams.

Information on NATA 2019 Admit Card

Admit card for NATA 2019 exams for the first attempt is released on 1st April 2019. NATA 2019 Admit Card is the very necessary document for every candidate to carry to the exams. The ones who do not have the admit card will not be allowed to attend the exams. It contains all the important details of the students like name, date of birth, exam centre, its address and more. Admit card will be available online and students should login into the official link using their login credentials to download the NATA 2019 Admit Card. About NATA 2019 Results

NATA results 2019 dates will be officially announced by the respective authority and students can check their results through online mode on the given dates. The results will be published in the form of score cards and will contain all important details namely marks scored by the candidate, name of the candidate, date of birth, gender and application number.

What NATA 2019 Cutoff?

NATA 2019 cutoff marks is the minimum marks that is to be scored by the students in order qualify in the exams. The overall cutoff marks may be modified based on certain factors considered and is declared after the results. The cutoff marks of NATA 2019 are provided in the below table.

What is NATA 2019 Counselling?

There are many changes made to NATA exams this academic year. It applies to counselling as well and many institutions participate in NATA 2019 counselling. So far, the colleges and institutions had been having their separate counselling for B.Arch courses. But this year, the counselling is to be conducted as national level centralized counselling. This has many benefits to the students as they need not travel to different colleges for admissions and  it saves time. Also the seats do not go vacant when there is a common centralized counselling. Students have to satisfy the eligibility conditions to participate in the NATA counselling.
