KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 Complete Details

KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021: Karnataka Examination Authority authorities set the KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 for the candidates who appear for the exam. Candidates who desire to get admission to the UG engineering courses in the state of Karnataka should take KCET 2021 Exam. Candidates who are applying for KCET 2021, should check if they meet the KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 set by the authorities of KEA. The officials are expected to release the KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 in the month of March 2021. The KCET eligibility criteria 2021 consists of age, domicile, educational qualifications and nativity which every candidate should meet. KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021

The exam conducting authority KEA prescribes the KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 for the candidates who appear for KCET 2021. The minimum eligibility condition can be divided into two main categories which include educational qualification and nativity.  General eligibility conditions for all the applicants are given below:

General Conditions of Eligibility for All

Nationality

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates should have passed the Class 12/PUC examination. Candidates who have appeared in the Class 12/PUC exam in 2021 and are waiting for their result can also apply for KCET 2021.

  • Applicants who have passed their qualifying examination/class 12/PUC from Karnataka State Open University will NOT be eligible to apply for KCET 2021

  • Candidates should have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in their class 12 along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Electronics/ Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study

  • Candidates should have secured an aggregate minimum of 45% marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination and 40% in case of SC, ST, Category-I and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B).

Nativity (For Government Seats Admission)

  • Candidates should have studied in one or more Government or Government recognised educational institutions located in Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years commencing from 1st standard to 2nd PUC / 12th standard as of 1st July 2021.

  • The applicants must have passed either SSLC / 10th standard or the 2nd PUC / 12th standard examination from Karnataka State.

  • Candidates should have studied and passed either 1st and 2nd year Pre-University Examination or 11th and 12th standard examination within Karnataka from an Educational Institution run or recognized by the State Government and that either of the parents should have studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN years.

  • A candidate who is son/daughter of defence personnel who has worked continuously in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year in Karnataka during the Two year period of study of candidates in PUC / 11th and 12th Standard course.

  • Wards of serving or retired employee in Central Armed Police Force  (CAPF) Service, whose parents at the time of joining the CAPF Service had mentioned that his/her home town was in Karnataka should submit proof of his/her domicile from the Record Office of the CAPF Unit where the Parent’s service record is maintained. In this case, the applicants should have cleared the qualifying examination from a recognised University or Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.

KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 for Different Categories

Candidates who satisfy the below KCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 are also eligible for government seats.

Migrant Candidates of Jammu and Kashmir

  • Candidates who are children of migrants of Jammu and Kashmir should show proof of migration which they can get from the jurisdictional District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner of any state in India.

Mother Tongue

  • Candidates whose mother tongue is Kannada, Kodava, or Tulu should have resided and studied for a duration of 7 years between 1st and 12th standards in disputed Kannada speaking area of Akkalkot or South Solapur or Jeth or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharashtra or Kasaragod or Hosadurga Taluks of Kerala State. Such candidates should undergo and clear the Kannada Language test.

  • Applicants who have studied 10 academic years in the Kannada language from 1st - 10th standard outside Karnataka do not need to appear for the Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA. Such candidates should have studied and passed the qualifying exam from any recognised educational institution.

Children/ Ward of Members of Parliament

  • Children of Members of Parliament (MP) who represent Karnataka, should have cleared high school from any institution located in any part of India.

Candidates of State and Central Government Employees

  • If an applicant is a son/daughter of an employee of the Union Government or an employee of the Union or Karnataka State Government Undertaking or Joint Sector Undertaking and his/her parents are likely to be transferred in any part of the country and has worked in Karnataka for a minimum period of 1 year in Karnataka during the 2 year period, that is 11th and 12th standard of the candidate. Such applicants should have cleared the qualifying exam from any recognised educational institute in the state of Karnataka.

  • Children of serving or retired employees of the Union Government or employees of Union or Karnataka State Government Undertaking or Joint Sector Undertaking where the employee had mentioned to the employer at the time of joining service that his/her domicile was any place in Karnataka or had studied in any recognised educational institute or institutions in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years and was or is liable to be transferred to any part of India according to the terms and conditions of his employment. Such candidates should have cleared the qualifying exam from a University or Board or any other institution located in any part of India.

How to fill KCET Application Form 2021 Online?

Eligible candidates should fill the KCET Application Form 2021 online mode. The officials of KEA will release the application form online mode. KCET 2021 application form can be filled by following the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website

  • Click on the “New User? Click Here to Register” tab

  • Candidates should provide the required information such as 13 digits ‘Student number’ issued from the PUE department if the candidates are to appear in the 2nd PUC exam and then click on the “Submit” button.

  • The applicants should provide information like the Candidate’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, security question, and security code and submit the details

  • Upon successful registration, the candidates will receive an Application number and User-ID to the registered mobile phone number and email ID.

  • Now, Log in using the user ID and password

  • Applicants should Fill in “Student information” by entering the required information.

  • Candidates should fill in educational details and then click on the “Save and next” button

  • Candidates should upload scanned images of the candidate’s photograph, signature, candidate left-hand thumb impression and parent signature

  • After this, the candidates should make the application fee payment via net banking or by visiting the branches of specified banks.

  • Check and submit the Application form for final submission.
