New Update on 05-04-2021: JEE Main Result 2021 - On jeemain.nta.nic.in, the National Testing Agency will announce the JEE Main paper 2 result for the May session. Candidates who took JEE Main paper 2 2021 in the February session can now view their paper 2 JEE Main result 2021 by logging in with their application number and date of birth. The JEE Main 2021 paper 2 result will include marks received in individual subjects as well as the overall JEE Main score, followed by a rank list based on the normalised NTA score. How to know the JEE Main Rank List 2021?

Tie-Breaking Criteria For JEE Main Results 2021 

Tie-breaking rules for preparing merit list are listed below:

  • A higher percentile in Mathematics subject considered for a better rank.
  • JEE Main 2021 Higher percentile in Physics subject is given better rank.
  • JEE Main Higher percentile scored in Chemistry subject is allotted better rank.
  • Candidate older in age will be preferred.

JEE Main 2021 Counselling

Based on marks scored in the JEE Main exam, students will be able to participate in the counselling process. Counselling will do as per the rank secured by candidates. JEE Main counselling 2021 will organize by the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) & CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board). 

  • The JEE Main 2021 counselling process will conduct in different rounds. Counselling will be done online only. It comprises various steps like online registration, choice filling & locking, seat allotment, fee payment & seat acceptance, and reporting to the allotted institution.

How is JEE Main Results 2021 Calculated?

JEE Main Results 2021 is released on the given dates by the authority. The scores are displayed in the results and for the candidates who had attempted both the sessions will get their scores by choosing the best score and is compiled for declaration of results. What is the JEE Main 2021 Marking Scheme?

Candidates can compare their answers with the official JEE Main answer key 2021. The students are given four marks for every correct answer. One mark will deduct for every wrong answer. The marks scored by the candidate is the difference between the positive and negative marks.

  • Total positive marks = Number of correct answers x 4
  • Total negative marks = Number of wrong answers x 1
  • Total marks scored by the candidate = Total positive marks - Total negative marks

How are JEE Main 2021 Ranks Calculated?

The respective authority decided the ranks of the candidates based on the scores obtained by them. When two or more students score the same marks, the ranks are selected based on the following hierarchy.

  • NTA score of Mathematics marks is given priority.
  • If the tie persists, then the NTA score of Physics is considered.
  • NTA score of Chemistry is considered.
  • If still there is a tie of marks, the candidates who are older are given preference.
