JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 - NTA has released the new JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 for B.Tech, B. Arch and B. Planning papers. JEE Main Paper Pattern 2021 has been revised and changed and an increase in the number of attempts have come as a relief to the engineering candidates by the National Testing Agency. In a recent webinar, Dr Nishank Pokhriyal conveyed the changes and exam dates of JEE Main 2021. Candidates have to go through JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 and check it without fail which will be followed in the JEE Main 2021 Examination when preparing for the Test. New Update 24-02-2021: JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 - NTA has released the new JEE Main 2021 exam pattern for B.Tech, B. Arch and B. Planning papers. The exam pattern of JEE Main 2021 is divided into JEE Paper 1 pattern for B.Tech and JEE Paper 2 pattern for B. Arch and B. Planning. As per JEE Main exam pattern 2021, each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 Numerical Value Questions and out of 10 only 5 have to be done. NTA has revised the exam pattern. A total of 90 questions are asked in the exam out of which candidates have to attempt 75 Questions or 20 questions out of 30 (for each section). JEE Main 2021 Registrations have been started. Candidates must apply before 23rd January 2021. From 2021 JEE Main Exam is conducted in 13 regional languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Odiya, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu). The JEE Main Exam 2021 will be held in February followed by the next three sessions in March, April, and May 2021. What is the JEE Main 2021 Marking Scheme?

 For the Correct responses in MCQs and Numeric Value Answer Based questions will be awarded with 4 marks each. There will be a deduction of 1 mark for every incorrect MCQ response. There will be no negative marking for incorrect responses in numeric value answer based questions and unattempted questions. Drawing Test in B. Arch paper will have 2 questions for 50 marks each.

  • JEE Main Exam Duration: B.E/ B. Tech, B. Arch and B. Planning paper will all be of a duration of 3 hours each. Candidates can sit for both B. Arch and B. Planning, in such a case, exam duration will be of 3 hours 30 minutes.
  • Medium of Question Paper: The question paper will be available in English and Hindi for all JEE Main Exam Centers. JEE Main 2021 will also be conducted in 13 regional languages.

The section for Mathematics for B.Arch and B.Planning is the same as for Paper 1 with the same sets of topics to focus on. The different topics for Aptitude for Part 1 and Part 2 are as follows:

  • Surfaces and objects associated with Architecture and as building elements.
  • Familiarization with places, relevant people, structures/buildings and materials/objects.
  • Capability of visualizing various sides of 3D items.

Aptitude Syllabus for Part 2 -

Drawing Test Syllabus -

1. What are numerical questions in JEE Main?  

Numerical questions have a numerical value as an answer and these have to be generally accurate to the point of 4 decimals in most exams. Unlike multiple choice questions, these answers need to be worked and calculated by students. The numerical value answers of JEE Main are done using the mouse and on screen virtual numeric keypad that is given in the test on the screen.

2. Is there any part from the syllabus for numerical questions as per the new exam pattern of JEE Main 2021?  

No, the JEE Main syllabus 2020 does not specify any such portions for numerical questions. Questions that need calculations and whose answers will be a numerical value may figure in the question paper.

3. What is the marking scheme of JEE Main?  

As per the marking scheme of JEE Main, for MCQ questions, candidates are allotted 4 marks for each correct answer and there is a negative marking of 1 marks for each incorrect answer. In case of answers with numerical values, candidates are allotted 4 marks for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

4. What will be the level of difficulty for JEE Main 2020 exam?  

There are high chances of the moderately high level of difficulty for JEE Main 2020 exam due to its high competency level.

5. What will be the mode of language in JEE Main Paper 1?  

JEE Main Paper 1 will be available in both English and Hindi languages. However, for the exam centres chosen in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the paper will also be available in Gujarati language.
