New Update: JEE Main Exam 2021 - Announcement of JEE Main exam date 2021 and release of form are delayed. There are high chances of postponement of the JEE Main January exam to February, 2021. JEE Main Exam 2021 - NTA JEE Main New has revised Exam Dates of April 2020 has released by HRD Minister. JEE Main January 2021 exam is expected to be held in the second and third week of January 2021. And JEE Main April 2021 exam is expected to be held in the second and third week of April 2021. JEE Main 2020 Postponed Notice

NTA has already released the NEET UG notification on its official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in), and the candidates are now waiting for JEE Main updates as well. On March 18, the NTA released official information stating that exams that were scheduled on April 5,7,9 and 11, 2020, would not be conducted on the mentioned dates. The dates of which would be announced by March 31, 2020. The admit cards were to be issued on March 20, 2020, would be released after the new dates were announced. The JEE Main 2020 has been postponed to the end of May 2020. The exam that was to be held in April will now be conducted after/in the last week of May due to coronavirus outbreak in the country. New Changes Introduced For JEE Main 2020

From the year 2020, the JEE Main exam 2020 will conduct separately for BE/B. Tech, B.Arch & Planning courses. Students can appear for all the courses or individually. Application Fee has increased as compared to last year. It can pay online.

  • Changes in Exam pattern: New changes have introduced in the exam pattern of JEE Main 2020. The number of questions in the exam has decreased to 25 questions (per subject) in comparison to last year (30 questions). Also, besides the MCQs in the paper, there will be questions whose answers are to fill as numerical values.
  • From this year, the pattern of B.Plan has separately introduced in JEE Main.
  • From 2019 onwards, National Testing Agency (NTA) given the responsibility to perform the entrance exams of JEE Main.
  • NTA JEE Main 2020 held twice every year in January & April in online CBT mode.
  • The age to apply for JEE Mains has removed. Now aspirants fulfilling the eligibility can apply for the JEE Main exam irrespective of their age.
  • For JEE Main Paper II (B.Arch/B.Plan), the candidates must have Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry subjects. Students aadhar card is not mandatory to apply for JEE Mains 2020 entrance exams.
  • NTA(National Testing Agency) has set up more than 3400 Practice centers in the country for the preparation of the students.

About JEE Main 2020

  • JEE Main 2020 is the Joint Entrance Examination, which was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018. Later, JEE Main 2020 is held by the NTA for admissions to various engineering institutions in India. JEE Main 2020 is apt for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.   • Qualification: Aspirants must qualify the 12th level or its equivalent examination from a recognized University.
  • For B.Tech (JEE Main Paper 1): Candidates must have passed with five subjects (Physics & Maths as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational subject) in the qualifying exam.
  • For B. Arch (JEE Main Paper 2): Applying candidate must have passed the 12th level with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with 50% aggregate marks.
  • Age Limit: There will be no age limit to apply for JEE Main 2020.
  • Appearing: Candidates who will be appearing in the qualifying exam also eligible to apply for JEE Main 2020.

What is the Exam Pattern of JEE Main 2020?

JEE Main 2020 consists of two papers, such as paper one and paper 2. Paper 1 consists of questions from subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The total number of questions from Paper 1 is 90, and the total marks are 360. The time duration allotted to complete the exam is 3 hours and physically challenged candidates, the duration of the exam is 4 hours. 

  • The JEE Main 2020 question paper is available in both English and Hindi. Part 3 questions of Paper 2 in JEE Main has to be answered withdrawing. For Part 1 and Part 2, questions will award four marks each and 1/4th of the total mark allotted will deduct. For Part III of paper 2, marks will be awarded based on the candidate’s drawing skills.   • JEE Main Cut Off mark 2020 are the minimum marks every candidate should score to be eligible to appear for JEE Main counseling. The JEE Main cut off marks varies for different courses and different institutions. JEE Main cut off can be checked online by logging on the official page. Many factors influence the JEE Main cut off marks. Some of the factors that influence the cut off marks are difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates appeared for the exam, the result, available seats in the institutions for a particular course, and previous year cut off marks. 
  • There are two types of cut off marks; namely, admission cut off marks and qualifying cut off. The qualifying cut off marks are the minimum marks that are required to score by the students to get qualified in the exams. Whereas the admission cut off is the marks to be scored by the candidates to secure a seat in the preferred college for the preferred course. Information on JEE Main 2020 Counselling

JoSAA, which stands for Joint Seat Allocation Authority, conducts JEE Main Counselling and seat allotment process. Candidates who have scored minimum cut off marks will be able to apply for JEE Main counseling. One who has high cutoff will be allotted seats in the preferred course and preferred institution. Seven rounds of seat allotment is done in the JEE Main counseling 2020. 

  • Students successfully scoring the minimum cut off marks will be considered eligible to participate in JEE Main 2020 Counselling process. The counseling process will conduct a centralized online process. 
  • To participate in the JEE Main counseling process, students first have to register themselves. JoSAA will organize the counseling process. Students will be allotted seats in various participating institutions like NIT, IIT, CFTI, etc.
  • Based on the applicant's category, rank obtained, seat availability, and other factors, seats will be allocated. After the seat allocation, Applicants have to report at the allotted institution for the document verification process.
