New Update on 17-03-2023: JEE Main 2023 - The JEE Main exam dates for 2023 have been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) 2023 for Session-2 April exam is set to take place on April 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12, according to the JEE Main 2023 exam dates, which are available at jeemain.nta.nic.in 2023. The final week of March is predicted to see the issuance of the NTA JEE Main 2023 admission card. Applicants have until March 16 at 10:50 PM to submit their JEE Main 2023 application forms. The NTA JEE Main 2023 will have two attempts in each of the January and April sessions.

What’s New Happened in JEE Main Last Year

NTA conducted JEE Mains in 13 regional languages.

There was a change in the exam pattern. Now there are 2 sections for each subject – section A, B. Section B has optional questions.

JEE Main is now conducted 4 times a year in Feb, March, April, and May.

Now, age is not a tie breaking criteria this time.

The challenge fee has been reduced. Now it is Rs 200/- per question.

UPSEE has been scrapped. Now JEE Main 2023 will be used for UP engineering admissions, bringing 1.4 lakh seats directly under it, for 750 colleges.
JEE Main 2023 Exam Pattern
Candidates who are going to appear for JEE Main 2023 entrance exam must be well aware of the exam pattern. There will be three papers – Paper-1 and Paper-2A and Paper-2B. Moreover, NTA has made a few changes in the exam pattern for JEE Main. The paper is divided into two sections – Numerical, and MCQs. Check the complete exam pattern below.
Mode of the exam – Computer-based with an exception of Drawing test which will be held offline.
Type of questions – MCQ and Numerical type.
Number of questions in Paper 1 – In the B.Tech question paper, a total of 90 questions are asked in the exam out of which the applicant has to attempt 75 questions or 20 questions out of 30 questions (for each section).
Marking scheme – For every correct response, 4 marks are awarded and there is a negative marking of 1 marks for incorrect response marked. However, there is no negative marking on Non-MCQ type questions.
Medium of the exam – The JEE Main 2023 question paper is available in 13 languages (English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Urdu, Telugu, Odia, and Punjabi).

JEE Main 2023 Paper 1 Exam Pattern
In paper 1, each subject will have two sections. Section A will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions, and Section B contains 1 questions for which answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In section B, candidates will have to attempt only 5 questions out of 10. There is no negative marking in Section B.

JEE Main 2023 Paper-2A Exam Pattern
- Mathematics section carries 20 MCQs with 10 numerical-based questions. Total marks for this section is 100 marks.
- The Aptitude section carries 50 questions, with a total mark of 200 marks.
- Drawing section carries 2 questions of 100 marks.
- Hence, the total questions asked is 82 questions, with 400 marks.

JEE Main 2023 Paper-2B Exam Pattern
- Maths section consists of 20 questions with 10 numerical-based questions of 100 marks.
- The aptitude test consists of 50 questions of 200 marks.
- Planning based objective type question comprises 25 questions of 100 marks.
- Hence, a total of 105 questions are asked of 400 marks.

Exams 2023 - FAQ
The admit card will be released 15 days prior to the exam
Candidates are advised to follow the instructions to upload their photograph in the application form. However, if any candidate has uploaded the photograph without date and time, the photograph will also be accepted
For appearing in the JEE Main 2022 examination, there is no age limit for the candidates.
JEE Main 2022 April exam will be conducted for three papers - BTech, B. Arch, and B.Plan.
