New Update on 08-04-2021: JEE Main Counselling 2021 - Candidates who will qualify for JEE Main 2021 will have to apply for JEE Main Counselling 2021 for admission in NITs, IIITs or GFTIs. JEE Main counselling is conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Registrations for JEE Main Counselling 2021 will start in June. JEE Main 2021 exam dates announced. JEE Main 2021 application form correction started. Many steps such as registration, choice filling, locking of choices, seat allocation, and payment of seat acceptance fee will be included in JEE Main counselling via JoSAA. There will be a total of 7 rounds of JEE Main Counselling 2021. Before the actual seven rounds of JEE Main Counseling 2021, JoSAA will also conduct two rounds of mock seat allotment to help students understand the process. JEE Main Counselling 2021 Provisional Seat Allotment:

Candidates will be assigned seats based on the filled choices. For seat acceptance, candidates must print the "Provisional Seat Allocation Letter" and the e-challan. Candidates must choose whether to freeze, slide, or float for subsequent rounds when accepting the seat.

JEE Main Counselling 2021 Seat Acceptance & Fee Payment:

The seat acceptance fee for reserved categories will be Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 45,000 for general candidates. Candidates must pay the fee using an e-challan or SBI net banking account. Candidates who pay their fees using an e-challan must print it out for future reference.

JEE Main Counselling 2021 Reporting at the Allotted Reporting Centre for Verification:

Candidates must report to the reporting centre for verification after paying the seat acceptance fee. The requested documents must be brought to the centre by the candidates. After the reporting centre verifies the documents, the seat will be authenticated. Candidates who fail to report to the designated centre will have their offer revoked.

JEE Main Counselling 2021 Reporting to the Allotted College:

Candidates must report to the assigned college or institution once their seat has been confirmed by the reporting centre. Students must carry the required documents and admission fees to their assigned college.

JoSAA stands for Joint Seat Allocation Authority, and it is the authorized identity to conduct JEE Main Counselling 2021 for the students. What is the Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main Counselling 2021?

Through JEE Main Counselling 2021, students arrive at their preferred courses in the reputed institutions’ available seats. Only students who are registered for JEE Main Counselling 2021 are allocated for the seats in the different institutions through counselling procedures. To apply for JEE Main Counselling 2021, candidates should satisfy the below-given eligibility criteria.

For B.Tech Course

  • Candidates should have scored the required cut off marks in JEE Main Examination.
  • Candidates should have completed 12th Class or equivalent examination with all the major subjects, namely Physics, Maths, and Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.
  • For IIT, NIT, GFTIs one should have scored at least 75% for the general category and OBC, they should have minimum 65%

For B.Arch Course

  • Cut Off marks in JEE Main 2020 Examination must be secured.
  • The 12th class or equivalent exam should be completed.
  • For IIT, NIT, GFTIs, one should have scored at least 75% for the general category, and for OBC, they should have a minimum of 65% in all five subjects, including Mathematics.

What are the Different Stages in JEE Main Counselling 2021?

JEE Main Counselling 2021 involves different stages in the process of seat allotment for the candidates. Candidates who are scoring the cut off marks will be eligible to enter counselling and undergo the different stages of the process. JEE Main Counselling 2021 different stages are listed and explained below.

Registration 

  • JEE Main Counselling 2021 registration is free, and it should be done online. Students should register through the official website using their JEE Main exam roll number and password. This is the initial step involved in the process of JEE Main Counselling.

Choice filling

  • Students should give their preference of institutions which they like to enter into. The most preferred institution must be mentioned as first in the list and followed by the institutions of their priority. 

Seat allotment and the announcement of rank list

  • According to the candidates’ scores and rank, JoSAA will allocate the seat for the students in the institutions. The rank list will be displayed online.

Allotment letter and seat acceptance

  • The student should report their acceptance of the seat by paying the seat acceptance fee through SBI net banking or e-challan. The acceptance fee is Rs.45000 for students belonging to the general category and Rs.20000 for other students.

Document verification

  • For the process to proceed, students should provide their necessary documents. If documents are not correctly submitted, there is a chance for the cancellation of the allotted seat. Provisional seat allocation letters must be downloaded and printed. 

Reporting at allotted institutions

  • Once all the procedure of counselling is over, the student should report at the institution in which he or she is allotted to.
