Overview of JEE Advanced Counselling 2019

JoSAA is the central authority that conducts JEE Advanced Counselling and seat allotment. Students who are eligible and who has got merits in JEE Advanced Exams can register for JEE Advanced Counselling 2019. To register for JEE Advanced Counselling 2019, students need their registration number and password. Also they will be asked to submit the necessary documents. JEE Advanced Counselling will be done through seven rounds of counselling and seat allotment. For participating in  JEE Advanced Counselling, students should complete the registration on the officially announced dates. What is the Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced Counselling?

To register for JEE Advanced Counselling, students should satisfy certain eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria are listed below.

  • Students should have scored 75% aggregate in 12th board examination.
  • In case of SC, ST and PwD, students are expected to score minimum 65% aggregate in 12th exams.
  • Candidates should have scored rank in JEE Advanced to participate in JEE Advanced Counselling.
  • In case the qualifying board follows only grades, then candidates has to get a letter from the board indicating the marks being scored. 

Information on JEE Advanced Results

JEE Advanced exam results will be announced in the month of June every year. By entering JEE Advanced roll number, date of birth and password, one can view the JEE Advanced results. The JEE Advanced rank national level and category wise rank list will be displayed along with the results. Candidates to be added in the merit list, they should have scored the prescribed minimum marks.  

What are the Documents Required for JEE Advanced Counselling?

For registering for JEE Advanced Counselling, students should submit all the necessary documents. All the documents will be verified by the respective persons. Documents that are to be submitted are listed below. 

  • JEE Advanced Seat Allotment Letter 2019
  • JEE Advanced 2019 Application form
  • JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card
  • Medical examination report
  • Date of birth proof namely birth certificate or 10th marksheet
  • Class 12th certificate
  • Category certificate if necessary
  • Attested copy of passport in case of foreign candidates  

What is the Procedure of JEE Advanced Counselling and Seat Allotment 2019?

There are certain stages involved in JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment process. Students should frequently check for updates so that they do not miss any important dates. JEE Advanced Counselling process begins in the month of June and is conducted by JoSAA. The different stages of JEE Advanced Counselling are as follows.

  • Registration for JEE Advanced Counselling 2019

Candidates are required to register for JEE Advanced Counselling. This is the important and primary step. Dates for registration and last date for registration will be officially announced for students to register for JEE Advanced Counselling. Students can login using their JEE Main registration number, date of birth and password. Already provided information will be displayed in read only mode and some additional information may be asked for. Students will have to enter the information and recheck it twice before submitting in order to avoid any mistake.  

  • Filling the choices of colleges and courses

Students should provide their preferences of courses and institutions in which they are trying for seat allotment. 

  • Allotment of seats

Mock seat allotments will be conducted for the candidates by the respective authorities. After which, students will get a chance to make changes to their choices. This will be proceeded with few rounds of seat allotment. Students will finally have to select an option and then the seat for that course in the college will be allotted.

  • Reporting to the allotted institutions

Once the students are allotted, they will have to download their allotment letter. Seat acceptance fee has to be paid and documents must submitted. Document verification will be done by the authorities at the reporting centre. Once all the process is completed, students will have to report to the allotted institution. 

How to Check the Status of JEE Advanced Counselling Seat Allotment?

Students can check the status of their seat allotment during the process of JEE Advanced Counselling. After every round of seat allotment, students should keenly check the status and proceed. During seat allotted, the category certificate provided by the students will be verified. If it is successfully verified, the category wise seat allotment will be successful. If the certificates are found inappropriate, then it will be considered as general category. To check the status, students will have to login using their register number, password and date of birth.
