IIT Guwahati Admission 2020

IIT Guwahati Admission 2020 - IIT Guwahati Admission 2020 had been released by IIT Guwahati and was available for online course registrations from July 21, 2020 (10:00 AM) through online mode for BTech, BDes, MTech, MDes, MA and MS. There were no provisions given for applying through offline modes for IIT Guwahati Admission 2020. IT Guwahati is inviting applications for Ph.D. Physics Admission (Special) under CSIR/UGC/DST-Inspire JRF Scheme. The last date for receipt of the application form along with the documents is November 10, 2020. Candidates will then get short-listed and will be called on for further selection process (Written Test and/or Online Interview). The dates for the Interview process is yet to be announced. The IIT Guwahati Admission 2020 will involve Online Spot Admission for vacant M.Tech Seats will take place from August 21-25, 2020 (tentatively) Vacant Seats, and more details will be available by 20 August 2020 in the official website. IIT Guwahati has 11 departments and five inter-disciplinary academic centres covering all the major engineering, science, and humanities disciplines, offering UG, PG and Ph.D. Programmes.

1. What all documents are required at the time of counselling?

The documents required at the time counselling, are as follows:

Caste and PWD Certificate (If applicable)
Scanned copies of JEE/GATE/CEED/JRF/NET/INSPIRE scorecard (as applicable)
Scanned copies of coloured photograph & DOB Certificate
Sponsored/ Part-Time form in the prescribed format (as applicable)
Scanned copies of Pass Certificate and Qualifying degree mark sheet

2. When do the admissions start for BTech at IIT Guwahati?

The BTech admissions generally commence from the month of December with JEE Mains registrations. However, the final selection is done through JoSAA counselling.

3. What is the basic eligibility criteria for BTech?

The candidates need to score minimum 75 per cent marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology as their main subjects. However, the admissions are purely on the basis of JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA counselling.

4. How can one become eligible for PhD?

PhD programme at IIT Guwahati is offered in regular, sponsored, part-time, and self-financed mode and is available in four specialisations that include CE, ECE, CS and Chemistry. According to the criteria, the candidate should have done ME/MTech/MSc in the relevant field with a minimum of 60 per cent marks in aggregate. The candidate who are qualified in GATE/NET (JRF)/CEED/INSPIRE, can also apply.
