GATE Exam 2021 - The GATE 2021 Changing the choice of examination City is FREE ), Changing the Category, Gender, and/ or Paper are with additional Charges (only for Successfully Registered Candidates from 28th October 2020 To 13th November 2020. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is otherwise known as GATE is conducted for students who aspire to enter into the engineering stream. GATE 2020

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Delhi is the organizing institute for the GATE. GATE 2020 will conduct on February 1, 2, 8, and 9, 2020, for 25 papers. Every year, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will conduct by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE.

What are the details about the GATE Exam pattern 2020?

GATE 2020 would include questions of two different types in all the papers. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). Multiple Choice Questions will carry 1 or 2 marks each for all the papers and sections in GATE 2020. MCQs are objective, and each question will have a choice of four answers, out of which the students have to mark the correct answer.

  • Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions will carry 1 or 2 marks each in all the papers and sections. The answer to the NAT question will be a signed real number, which needs to be entered by the applicants using the virtual numeric keypad on the monitor (keyboard of the computer will be disabled). Students should note that no choices will show for these types of questions.

An Overview of GATE

GATE exams are always conducted by the IIT institutions namely Roorkee, Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Bangalore Kharagpur and Guwahati and whereas this year GATE 2019 is conducted by IISc Bangalore. All the institutions conduct GATE exams on a rotational basis every year. GATE 2019 exam will be conducted for 3 hours at the graduate level. All candidates are expected to complete all 65 questions at the given 3 hours of exam duration. Students who seek for admission into M.E, M.Tech and also students who wish to complete Doctorate in engineering or architecture can appear for GATE 2019 exams. Also, students who wish to get employed in most of the public sector undertakings can also appear for GATE exams. GATE exams are conducted only once in a year and the mode of exam is computer-based. Candidates get an opportunity to make use of the GATE 2019 scorecard for applying for a scholarship to study postgraduate courses. Nearly 9.5 lakhs students registered for GATE 2019. GATE

GATE 2020 registration has begun for the exams that are to be conducted in February 2020 and the last day to apply is on 26th September 2019. The link for GATE 2020 registration is http://appsgate.iitd.ac.in/. Students can register for GATE 2020 till 1st October 2019 by paying an additional fee for registration. The admit cards for GATE 2020 will be available from 3rd January 2020. Students should ensure that they register for GATE 2020 before 26th September 2019 to avoid any additional charges. What are the Important Dates of GATE 2020?

Students should fill in the GATE application form that is available online from 3rd September of 2019 to 26th September 2019. It is essential that students provide accurate details in the application form. GATE 2020 is conducted in the month of February 2020. What is the Eligibility Criteria of GATE Exams?

All students who would prefer to appear for GATE exams should satisfy a certain set of eligibility conditions which is prescribed by the authority. The eligibility criteria of GATE 2020 are listed below.

  • There is no maximum age limit defined for GATE exams.
  • Students who had completed a bachelor's degree in either engineering or science stream can apply for GATE 2020 exams.
  • Students should at least scored a minimum of 45% in the bachelor’s degree.
  • Students should have studied for 4 years after 12th std or 3 years after diploma will be eligible to apply for GATE exams.
  • International students can also apply for GATE 2020 if they had completed any bachelor or masters in engineering or science stream.
  • Final year students of bachelors or masters can also apply on a condition that later he or she should provide a copy of final mark sheets to the respective authority.

How to Apply for GATE Exams?

Students who satisfy all the eligibility criteria of GATE exams as prescribed will be able to apply for GATE 2020. One who do not satisfy the conditions but still apply for the exams, then the authorities may reject the application. To apply for GATE exams, one has to follow the below-given procedure:

  • Visit the officially announced link for registering for GATE 2020 exams.
  • The online Application form will be available from September 3rd, 2019.
  • Students will have to log in and fill the form through the GATE Online Application Processing System.
  • Provide a correct email address, mobile number and create a password for creating login id.
  • Once login is created, students can fill and submit the application form of GATE 2020.
  • Students will be asked for their personal and educational details in the GATE 2020 application form.
  • Students should upload a scanned copy of signature and photograph in JPEG format.
  • The application form must be checked thoroughly and then submitted.
  • To complete the registration process, students should make the necessary payment for registration through online method using net banking or debit card or credit card.
  • On successful payment of application fees by the students and scrutinisation of the details by the authorities,  the registration process is completed.
  • Application fee for GATE 2020 is Rs.1500 for all students except ST/SC whose charges are Rs.750.

What is GATE Admit Card?

GATE 2020 Admit Card which is the most important document that a candidate should possess at the time of the exam, counselling and seat allotment. GATE Admit Card is issued by IIT Madras for all the successfully registered candidates. Candidates can download their GATE admit cards from the official website through login. Admit cards are available online from January 3rd, 2020 at 4.30 pm for download. GATE 2020 Admit Card is the entrance hall ticket for every candidate to appear for the GATE examinations. GATE Admit Card possess all the details of the candidate and the centre of examination. The invigilator verifies the candidates’ GATE Admit Card and then allow the candidate to enter the examination hall. GATE 2020 Admit Card should be kept safe for all future admission process.   • Enter your enrolment ID or email address and password to log in.

What is the Syllabus of GATE Exams?

GATE 2019 Syllabus is framed by the IIT which is responsible to conduct GATE exams. GATE 2019 Syllabus helps the students to get an idea of all the chapters that is covered for the GATE exams. What is the Exam Pattern of GATE 2019?

GATE Exam Pattern is very useful for the candidates to plan and prepare for the GATE exams. It provides all the information about the marking scheme, number of questions and types of questions. The exam pattern of GATE 2019 are listed in the below given table.

Information on GATE Answer Key

GATE 2019 Answer Key will be helpful for the students to calculate their probable scores in the GATE exams. GATE 2019 Answer Key for every paper is provided separately for easy reference. Many educational institutions and training centres release the GATE answer key once the GATE Exams is completed. But students can always check for GATE 2019 Answer Key that is officially released by IIT Madras. Students shall have to follow the national level GATE exam marking system to calculate their probable scores in GATE exams. Information on GATE Results

GATE results are published after the release of GATE answer key. Once the answer key is officially announced for each paper, students can download it through online. Students should check all the answers and also they get an opportunity to challenge any answer if required. Once the authorities check all the objections and provide the right answers, the GATE results are published. To check GATE results follow the below given steps.

  • Enter the email address or enrolment ID and password.
  • Click “Scorecard” tab to download GATE score card and it can be printed for future uses.

What is GATE Cut Off?  

GATE Cut Off marks reflects the minimum marks to be scored by the candidates to be qualified in the GATE exams. GATE Cut Off and admission cut off are different. GATE Cut Off is decided by the respective authority of GATE 2019 which is the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, whereas the admission cut off is decided by the different institutes. GATE Cut Off is released in the form of marks. Students who scored GATE cut off will be considered as qualified and be issued with the scorecard. GATE Cut Off marks vary for each paper.

What is GATE Counselling?

GATE counselling is conducted by the authorities mostly in the month of April every year. It is conducted after the GATE results are published. Only qualified students can apply for GATE counselling. The GATE counselling is conducted for few rounds and seat is allotted for the students based on their GATE cut off marks.
